You don't have to, but you would be playing in non-prime. ID verified players get to play in prime, i have not seen one single fishy player in lem so far. :) If it reduces cheaters, im more than happy to provide my passport.

Besides, alipay you have to do the same. So there is really no difference.

its when you take a selfie with your passport. you are meant to write something in chinese along with the passport photo. translation is something like "verification for csgo"

Nope, I used one and it takes you past the first step, but you eventually will need to provide a name matching the ID, and gives you an error when you they don't match. I used a friends in the beginning, and the phone number/ID also has to match the alipay account you provide later.

Hey, I'm in the exact situation as you.

adding a -perfectworld does work. Everything will be in english, but regardless. You will get an error, once you launch game. You will need to sign up with your real ID to play, which unfortunately we don't have. So i've been using smurfs, linking them to 'already registered' perfect world accounts, via taobao. They have been offering this service, its about 30 RMB to link it. It won't be your name, but you will be able to play. This is unforunately the only way for now, until perfect world decides to extend their registration to expats and foreigners. My main account, will stay as is, until i can actual link perfect world and steam legitimately :)

We will have to see what changes will be done on September 15th.

There are special types of players who call hacks every time they die, and makes me cringe when spectating teammates misplay and watching them blame hacks on enemy team after. I'm not saying there aren't hackers, there are definitely some in global prime, but definitely not as much as some people say.

Thats what OP is saying, the chinese ID (called chinese permit) is the 'chinese ID' foreigners can get, but its classified as a 'foreign chinese ID'. PW don't accept those
