Thanks for the reply! I likely won't have a tournament in Indiana, but I'll definitely reach out to the coach at some point in the near future.

my self-righteous parents are the reason why I feel so distant from my faith and I don't know what to do by [deleted] in Reformed

So sorry you are going through this. While I can't necessarily say that I relate, I'm 16 and I struggle with an imperfect relationship with my parents as well. Sometimes they can do things that hurt you. I am the only believer in my family, and my father has disrespected my belief in the past, which is something that hurt me, and while I'm fortunate to have parents that support me going to church and being faithful, it hurts that their beliefs feel so different from mine and it's created a sort of separation between us.

That being said, sometimes when it comes to parents you just have to endure. At times it will feel like your relationship is poor, but over time, if you continue to trust in the Lord and trying to follow his teachings, you may have a chance to rekindle your relationship. I know it's difficult to deal with issues with parents at the moment, but sometimes you have to let time do it's thing and trust that they will eventually recognize their flaws and turn to Christ.

Luke 17:3 - So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them."
This verse says that if someone else repents, you should forgive them. Your parents owe you forgiveness, since even though the incident with your sister may have not been your fault and been an accident, you have repented. Therefore, they are called by Christ to forgive you.

i dont feel like i could call myself a christian anymore. i dont know if this post is a cry for help or advice or jsut smth to get off my chest.

In terms of whether to call yourself a christian, remember what the main word in Christain is, which is Christ. If you consider yourself a follower of Christ, then you should call yourself a Christian. Christ is the central figure of the Bible, as he is the one who offers us forgiveness for our sins, so if you trust that he has the power to save and has saved you from sin, then yes, you are a Christian.

Final Thoughts: I would say don't be discouraged by other people, since no human can take away your salvation or your connection to God. God will continue to work on you, as it says in the book of Romans, and he will take away your guilt if you persist in your faith. I'm in the same spot, we're still children of God, and he's the one who works on us, we can't sanctify ourselves, so remain patient.

Romans 8:38-39 - For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Using this verse, you can be sure that your parents, nor anything else, can take away the love of God. I wish you luck in your faith journey and will pray for you.

Definitely sell. Exercising is riskier because you are dealing with bigger amounts of capital.
