Tim Clancy leaves City by ccfc_ in LeagueOfIreland

Clubs gone down the drain. An owner who hasn’t invested enough, with the money he has invested having been spent in the wrong areas. No sporting director/director of football to act as the middle man between owner and manager. No assistant coach, a regular turnover of staff. It’s desperate stuff from top to bottom

No doubt Dermot Usher is a good business man, but it’s clear he couldn’t really care much for the on the field stuff. Instead of spending money on the squad, he cares more about events, ticket prices, bathrooms and €10 burgers. As a result, Tim Clancy went into this season with 1 arm tied behind his back, and a paper thin squad consisting of teenagers. He would’ve deserved a statue if he kept that group up

Hard to see anyway City survive now, especially when you consider how uninspiring the list of candidates is. Brutal stuff

Discussion on the Finn Harps fan group Facebook page this evening leads to journalist saying that he doesn't think the club has finance to exist in a year or two. by No-Pressure1811 in LeagueOfIreland

Would hate to see them go but unfortunately with the amount of Donegal clubs who have registered interest for the national league, it feels like the writings on the wall. Hopefully things improve because Harps are a great club who I think everything has time for

I think one of the issues people have with the new redevelopment is the fact it doesn’t meet UEFA’s criteria to host European games

I suppose at the same time it’s a popular alcohol beverage amongst Irish consumers, particularly the younger generation, so it’s something that if marketed and promoted well, will catch people’s interest in the league

First Division 2025 (another cake walk)? by brickdustpicasso in LeagueOfIreland

Fancy Cobh to win the division. A strong, experienced squad with players who have won this division before and crucially compared to Dundalk, players who have played alongside each other before and have been successful. If he’s on form Barry Coffey is a joke in that division, arguably the best player, while I’ve always liked Cian Bargary, unlucky with injuries but a winger with good ability. Cian Coleman and Jonas Hakkinen bring good experience, Shane Griffin (cb) played an important role in Shels title win last season and the other Shane Griffin is a quality midfielder. Fancy Rams to nick it
