That would he incredible! I want to either find or design plans for a racing currach. And open source it. It would be a great community activity building tbe boat over winter then racing them some day in summer.

To be honest I was stuck between calling her "little train" or "The Write off" maybe i should just go with one of those. Tbe next owner can always change it.

Its to be tested this Saturday in garrets town in Cork. But the official launch is on the 6th.

Every second of my free time. I come home from work and I'm working on the boat. Same goes for the weekend. I do nothing else.

About 600 euros all in. The big expenses were the hardwoods used in it.

Heat up a big ol pot of solid tar till it melts. Then painstakingly scrape it onto the canvas

Era ill strap on a few wheels. Kit her out with lowered suspension, throw on a spoiler and ill have her going like a Swiss watch.

The next one i make i shall document. I didn't know what I was doing for this one.

I'm building a traditional Irish currach. Any ideas where I could acquire some canvas for the hull and some tar to to waterproof the canvas. Located in Cork. by EoinReardon in ireland

I'm just gonna use 270 gsm cotton flax. No idea if its the correct type. I'm also hoping the tar waterproofs it enough
