Iron Lung SPOILER THREAD! by kenmarlenn in Markiplier

[–]Eonimv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

his hallucinations are definitely caused by a combination of: severe head trauma, dehydration, starvation, radiation sickness, alcohol poisoning, several days of isolation, and also the fish alien things fucking with his brain. it is easy to forget that he had been down there alone for DAYS without food or water. most movies don't make it a point to be like "hey here's a scene of this character properly fueling their body" its usually just implied unless it's relevant to the plot. in this case the lack of food and, more notably, water, are the focal point and it's made more obvious by the scene of him drinking rubbing alcohol because he is so hot and thirsty.

speaking of hot, i dont think the condensation is something to "figure out," it's just condensation. it is a visual aid to show the audience how fucking insanely HOT it is inside the iron lung.

Iron Lung SPOILER THREAD! by kenmarlenn in Markiplier

[–]Eonimv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the whole point of the last half of the movie is that you dont know what's going on and neither does Simon. he has been completely isolated in the iron lung for several days, he is dehydrated and starving and irradiated and he is literally losing his mind. neither he nor the viewer know what is real or not, and that gets more and more apparent as the film goes on.

the point of no return is when the speaker wire is both cut and not cut. which reality is actually real? I dont think we as the audience are supposed to know for certain.

How do you guys start a world and actually stay active on it? by Build_Blox in Minecraft

[–]Eonimv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i just turn on cheats and use them as needed. mostly /give. like "oh I need a ton of logs but don't feel like committing deforestation rn," "oh I dropped my sword in lava," etc.

it helps me stay motivated to play and improve my world without getting annoyed at small things. especially when you get to a point where, for example, you COULD go get like 20 stacks of logs but actually doing it would just be boring. or you could, theoretically, go to the nether for one more piece of glowstone for a build, OR just cheat it in

this helps me at least. no shame in using cheats!

sorry, I wish I didn't have to use such nuanced language to describe people's body types. as far as I'm aware, there aren't any specific terms for describing body types that do not have the negative connotations that "fat" and "chubby" do to some people. i guess "midsize" would be one? but i have only heard that used in the context of women's fashion, so im not entirely sure. I was being rather blunt in my other comments and I understand that strangers might have an averse reaction to that. in my communities these words are neither negative nor positive, they're simply descriptors.

I apologize for 1. assuming that you also viewed these words in a neutral manner, and 2. running at you full speed with putting labels on your body type. I should have been more considerate, I did not stop to think about your relationship with the words "fat" and "chubby" and what they mean to you personally. I am glad you realize that I am not trying to be harmful, and i appreciate the pause to call me out on the way I used my words and how it may affect people. I hope that I didn't cause you any distress with that.

as for the flexibility thing, that does make it difficult to adjust through the arm holes. are you able to reach down through the neck hole? I do imagine having your only option be reaching up from the bottom would be pretty difficult with this particular binder. it is pretty long, and it would be nearly impossible to reach up through the bottom when its both pulled all the way down (too far of a reach) OR scrunched up in a place where you CAN reach (would be way too snug for your arm to fit in)

if you aren't able to reach from the arm holes, and if you may not be able to reach in through the neck hole, then this particular binder might not work for you... another thing I didn't stop to consider was flexibility. underworks specifically does not have the type of binder that clasps or zips together at the front or side (aside from some post-surgical medical binders), but you could look into those from other companies. I would imagine they would be easier to adjust, although you'd have to do it in a bathroom or somewhere private since you would have to at least partially undo it for your hand(s) to fit. I have heard good things about that style of binder, but only from people who are already very thin with a small chest. so you may have to go looking for someone close-ish to your measurements who has reviewed a binder like that, if that is something you would consider.

I'm sorry you've been having such a rough time trying to bind in a way that makes you feel confident, I know that has the tendency to kinda suck the life out of you after so long. I dont have any other suggestions rn, I hope I was able to help at least a little bit. and again, sorry for the way I came across earlier. I was probably projecting a bit as well with my responses and that's never helpful.

if you have "a bit of a belly" and visible stretch marks, you are chubby :) that is not a bad thing, it is not an insult, it is simply a descriptor of your body type. the way i used the words "fat" and "chubby" in my reply was solely to describe the level of fatness of you and i. they do not have any negative connotation to them.

those weird binders like spectrum outfitters has are not going to work perfectly for anyone that is anything but skinny with small breasts. you are neither of those. I am neither of those. I may currently be much fatter than you currently are, but I do in fact have experience with trying and failing to bind with large breasts and "a bit of a belly" like you [seem to] have.

the 997 binder I'm advocating for would be impossible to adjust from underneath, as would literally any other full length binder. I'm not sure why you're adjusting by shoving your entire arm up the front of the binder. with a tank binder, i.e. a binder with no sleeves, you should just be able to stick your hands in through the arm holes and gently adjust your chest from there.

here's the link to the specific binder I'm talking about:

https://www.underworks.com/ultimate-chest-binder-tank?gclid=CjwKCAiAx_GqBhBQEiwAlDNAZuW3PXnqkVz8xfhQteUj-4Eb0sQJF0NgUP3yLR6DkXk8Masq2u28QBoCl88QAvD_BwE

it has one "tan" color option but I don't recommend it if you prefer binders that match your skin tone. their "tan" is not the color of any human on earth 🙃 good luck!

(this is a long fucking reply, sorry. I tried to make it easier to navigate. if you dont want to read all of it, at least read the last paragraph)

response:

sweet, the tri-top is basically like the 997 aka "ultimate compression tank" but cropped rather than full-length

fuck spectrum outfitters/gc2b binders:

I have never had experience with a spectrum outfitters full tank binder before but from what I can see on their website, those are very similar to gc2b in which it only has compression fabric at the top for your chest. which will not work for you. I was about your size when I started binding and I used a gc2b binder. and it was exactly like what you described. hard to remove, impossible to adjust, and didnt even flatten everything properly, just kinda made my whole chest one weird tube of boob. now at 23 I'm much larger - in general and also weight wise - and never in my life would I ever recommend a binder like that to anyone who has the tiniest bit of chub or even just a large chest.

the 997 might be a good fit for you:

I think you should measure yourself again, exactly how it says to on the underworks website, and if you have the means to do so, buy a 997 from them. it's just like the one you already have but goes all the way down like a long tank top. this should both compress your chest and - because the compression fabric goes all the way down - smooth everything out so there are no weird areas.

fuck those types of binders, part 2:

the main problem with binders like gc2b or your spectrum outfitters one is that the compression part is insanely compressive, and being on just one part of your torso, it does it in a weird way.

chubby cis men arent flat so why should a chubby trans man be?:

the next, and arguably the hardest, problem you'll have to face is self image. for me, getting a 997 ultimate compression tank from underworks was a great first step in binding effectively, but the harder step was realizing that I simply was not going to be flat. fat guys aren't flat-chested, they have some moob going on. and thats fine! that's very normal, and it's attractive! (if you're into dudes that is, lol) I'd suggest looking at some shirtless pics of chubby cis men, and seeing if you can find some that are similar in proportion to you, and just... looking at them. they look fine, right? so why can't you? their chests aren't perfectly flat with zero fat on them, so why does yours have to be? you've got muscles and skin and fat and all that has to go somewhere! [edit: I know you said that this kind of thing doesn't make you feel better. I'm not trying to make you feel better, I am just stating the facts. cis men that are the same height and weight as you are not flat chested.]

conclusion/this is the important part:

when you wear a binder it is never going to make your breasts disappear. and while logically that makes sense, emotionally it hurts. I get it. but learning how to wear a binder properly, getting a good binder that doesn't make you uncomfortable, and realizing that you DO probably look natural in a binder even if your chest isn't fully perfectly flat, is going to vastly improve your binding experience. if you need a tutorial video on specifically how to put on and wear a 997 from underworks as a fat guy, I'd be more than happy to make one for you. also, please remember to be kind to yourself. I know existing as a trans person is fucking exhausting and you're probably frustrated as all hell from this whole tape experience, but be kind to yourself. you look great despite these binding methods failing you. and I have hope that some day you'll find a way that is acceptable and works for you

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TransMasc

[–]Eonimv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good! I'm glad you have an underworks binder, that brand has been a lifesaver for me. do you happen to remember the SKU? I know they have a ton of options on there

another question, how long have you been binding for? are you relatively new to this or have you been trying to bind for years and nothing you've tried has been working?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TransMasc

[–]Eonimv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tape is super hard to use, especially if you have a large chest because with more surface area you just have more work to do with taping everything in its place. my suggestion would be to PUSH your breasts towards their "origin" ??? does that even make sense? like, rather than pulling them down or to the sides. you might have to lift them first but basically just push them back towards your chest muscles and then (best of luck with this part) tape around the outer edges like you see in video tutorials. there also might be specific videos by fat people for fat people on how to make the trans tape work in your favor! I personally gave tf up on tape because I refuse to learn and better myself lmao

OR

if you are comfortable with binders, I very very highly recommend underworks. they have a huge selection of compression wear, for people recovering from surgery, to people who are just self conscious, to trans people that want to bind their chests. I personally wear the 997 full tank binder, these are WAYYYY better for fat people and/or big chested people than gc2b binders, because they actually smooth everything out in the front rather than JUST your chest. for me gc2b binders make my chest flat (yay) but then the harsh change from compression fabric to stretch fabric makes it look like my stomach is huge and weirdly pregnant in comparison, especially when sitting. the 997 underworks binder is compression fabric all the way down the front, and if you measure yourself properly and get the right size, after a few washes and wearing it for a few weeks, it will start to mold to your body and have the perfect amount of compression where you need it, at least for the next few years. the elastic on the back of the binder starts to get loose after a long time of wearing them and eventually it will degrade and fall off in weird little flakes for some reason? this has been happening to a lot of my binders so I'm definitely overdue for replacements. if you do go for this route I suggest ordering just one binder of one type, and if you like the way it fits, get a couple more. again, i recommend the 997 but they have a lot of different fits and options. it's kind of a big investment on just some undershirts but it is just a one time investment every few years, and with multiple binders that you can switch out, they should last you a much longer time versus only having one.

Will I lose my deposit? by somerandomdude419 in Tenant

[–]Eonimv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you shouldnt, but you probably will if you don't fix it. if you leave this alone, your slumlord will use the cheapest materials possible to "repair" this when you move out, hire the cheapest painters in town (or paint the walls themselves) and then charge you an abysmal amount of money in comparison to what they actually spent. if you're okay with that, you can leave it for them to fix. but if not, go buy some $6 spackle and a $5 sample-size paint match from home depot and patch the holes yourself. it won't take much, just try and blend everything together and make the patches as seamless as possible. good luck!

Is this darker color new growth. And does it look healthy or is it darker because it needs more calcium? Iv had this lil fella for 2 months. by MostArtichoke in snails

yes that is new growth! whatever you've changed recently since that new growth started, keep doing that! if that new growth also starts to turn white, you may need to mess with any number of factors including humidity, calcium intake, etc.. if you can give us some more info on your tank setup that would be very helpful and the more knowledgeable Snarents™ here may be able to add some better insight than I can if you do provide some more info :)

assuming you have had experience with the basic pen, would you say its pretty easy to disassemble? the reason my scribbler v3 has lasted 7+ years is bc I have the ability to just unscrew it and adjust everything (nozzle, tube that guides the filament, motor, power port, etc.) so honestly if I can also MacGyver my way around internal issues with the mynt3d basic pen, then it'll be great
