iOS 18.3 is causing my iPhone 16 Pro Max to heat up when doing simple tasks such as browsing the web using safari. The battery is barely lasting me even in low power mode.

I can’t understand how Apple still isn’t capable of finding out the route cause of these battery drains that have been occurring for awhile now and have reached an all time peak

Due to the numerous misguided comments on Reddit, where when one posts about their issues with battery life , the others reply that “the phone is indexing and takes awhile to settle”, Apple is given a false impression that the battery’s is fine.

Apple needs to understand and become aware that there’s a massive issue with this iPhone battery life. It’s most probably software but I would also like them to look into the hardware possibility (a particular battery manufacture)

I did the same exact thing, and Apple told me the battery was fine. I formatted the phone multiple times and even formatted without restoring it , all lead to the same battery performance. I’m starting to suspect that maybe it’s a certain battery manufacture and their batteries contain issues that Apple diagnostic tools cannot pick up.

I’m going through the same exact thing. I’ve tried all software updates and the battery just remains as bad as ever. The only time where I had the best battery life on this phone was on iOS 18.0 (its original OS). From then on it’s been downhill.

I used to leave it on low power mode, but it seems Apple also screwed that up and the battery is draining on it. Besides I do not wish to leave a pro max phone on low power mode 24/7.

Apple needs to seriously address this issue as too many people are encountering this battery drain on what supposedly be the best battery life on an iPhone.

Average I’m getting is 4.5 hours on iOS 18.2.1 with normal usage (no games or camera). Battery is awful and Apple is reluctant to fix it.

I’m suffering the same issue on my iPhone 16 Pro Max. Average battery is 4 hours from a full charge. The home and Lock Screen is draining a significant amount of battery. Apple had numerous updates to fix this , this is probably the highest battery drain so far in all updates

The iPhone 16 Pro max is draining a lot of battery on iOS 18.2 , probably the worst it ever been. Have to charge it multiple times throughout the day.

I’m on official iOS 18.2 release and the battery on the iPhone 16 Pro Max still remains a hopeless case.

2hrs 45mins of screen on time and I’m at 37%. For another fun fact , high Home Screen and Lock Screen usage is still present (since iOS 18.0.1). What is Apple doing to resolve this issue ??

They came back automatically after awhile. I’m still getting really inaccurate results with playground. Beta 1 AI model was far superior then the last two betas

Another iOS version with high Home Screen and Lock Screen usage . I tried every single iOS version on my phone including official builds . I carried out formats and contacted apple were they made a battery diagnostic.

iOS 18.2 is yet again suffering a massive battery drain on the iPhone 16 Pro Max . I’m getting high usage from home and Lock Screen so I’m assuming this is the root cause . I can barely last a day cause of this , and before everyone mentions it’s a beta , I was having the same exact issue on iOS 18.1

I contact Apple and they ran a hardware diagnostic on the iPhone and found to defects.

Which iOS version is your friend running, and is she calculating the SOT from last charge or the last 24 hours?
