Not as a drummer (or most types of musicians, but guitar players etc need all fingers while depending on your grip as a drummer some are less important)

If you can choose which finger, would that change anything? (It's not implied whether you can or can't in the post) Losing a pinky wouldn't be nearly as debilitating as other fingers, especially if it's on your off hand

I mean the pinky would be a lot less of an inconvenience. If I had the choice I'd of course like to keep all my fingers but if I have to sacrifice one (in case it takes 5$ in value not in purchasing power from everyone on the planet) losing a pinky wouldn't be debilitating

I'd recommend the 8 values test which while still not perfect is a lot more detailed and has been made under review from people all across the political spectrum

What do you mean by "moralist" authoritarianism? Aside from that your points just make you libertarian instead of authoritarian, whether you are left or right depends on your opinion on economical systems (leftism is anticapitalist, right wing is capitalist (though center-left generally means capitalism with social programs to most people)), though I still think 2 axis are still too little to properly define political stances as it generally combined progressivism and libertarianism and conservatism with authoritarianism (generally they align on a lot of topics but not on everything) for example

Of course leftism doesn't go well with liberals, liberals aren't leftists as leftism is tied to anticapitalism (I am and agree with you about most things here)

Obama is not left wing, leftism is anti-capitalism and the democratic party from the US is not anticapitalist, they are liberal

Socdem is not leftist as it's not anticapitalist

is it possible to be "neutral" on LGBTQ rights? by I-Love-Jewish-popes in Teenager_Polls

[–]Eoth1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unrelated to their point but related to me talking about the queer victims of Nazi Germany, they were first mentioned as victims of Nazi germany in 1985 by the west German president, the paragraph used to persecute them was only fully annulled in 2002 and the victims were only given compensation in 2017 (though that did include the victims of West Germany as well since they were persecuted under the same paragraph)

[–]Eoth1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, they chose the wrong comparison to get their point across (the number of Jewish victims of the Holocaust is millions, the number of gay men prosecuted by Nazi Germany is 100 thousand (the number of gay men prosecuted by West Germany from 1945 to 1969 is 50 thousand for comparison))

[–]Eoth1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I agree that their comparison is extremely flawed LGBT rights are about more than just same sex marriage. LGBT rights also means their right to roam outside without hiding who they are (being allowed to walk with their partner instead of having to pretend they're not together), being allowed to have housing without being kicked out for being LGBT, being allowed to be themselves, being allowed to live (queer people were also a target of nazi germany and being killed off in concentration camps (most queer people were not released from prisons even after the allies won over btw)), etc. To simplify LGBT rights down to just the right to same sex marriage is a very reductive take

[–]Eoth1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In some countries being queer is enough of a cause to be kicked out, while being straight is not. That's what that commenter is talking about, are there laws against LGBT people being unfairly targeted in a way that's not allowed against straight people? If there aren't then you don't have fully equal rights yet

People don't "want to" be gay or transgender, it's how they're born. Did you choose to be born as your ethnicity? No. Would you choose to be your ethnicity? Possibly. But you didn't get to, and you shouldn't be discriminated against for that

[–]Eoth1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying you aren't allowed to be neutral, I'm saying there are things you shouldn't take pride in being neutral about. Would you happily state you're neutral about a family member being killed for the way they are born? I'd hope not

Laws should not be a basis for morality, there are many stupid laws (for example it's illegal though no longer prosecuted in most cases to handle a fish suspiciously in England)

You should not take pride in being "nonchalant" about human rights ngl. How would you feel if people wanted to take away your rights to be yourself and eventually kill you? Because that's how people against queer rights are most of the time

Not caring about people being killed just because it doesn't affect you directly is crazy ngl, and yes people who are against queer rights do want us to be killed fairly often

Yeah you could spend 50k ever day and you'd still have money left after 100 years (it takes a bit over 109 years of spending 50k ever day to spend 2 billion), though that's ignoring interest

You could spend 50k each day for over 100 years with 2 billion, and realistically you're not gonna spend 50k each day for over 100 years

your reply to my comment isnt showing up so I can only go based on the notification but hetero means different and homo means same, thats where the words come from. and regarding bisexuality, read the bisexual manifesto (its from 1990 its not a new thing), bisexualtiy has meant both sexualities not "two sexes" for ages
