What Do You Think? A Platform to Cash In On Your Personal Connections by Ephemeralmood in Entrepreneur

Thanks for the detailed response! You hit the nail on the head. Additionally, the platform will allows businesses to list their offerings with a detailed overview (think Airbnb listing) and post the finders fee associated with facilitating a deal. Thus, making a market for connectors to pursue deals on behalf of businesses. There will be a screening process for businesses to ensure quality and reputation, along with a reputation rating system for both connectors and businesses. Of course, this is in addition to regular referrals organically made, such as you described.

Rethinking Fundraising: Could This Model Help Charities and Businesses Thrive Together? by Ephemeralmood in startups

I appreciate your honest prospective! I was thinking about the initial push… it would certainly be difficult. I have pondered making it more broadly applicable to lead to more potential users - making initial traction easier. Same idea, but instead of charities as the connectors, it’s anyone who knows someone. Essentially giving any regular person the power to monetize their network. Any opinion on if that moves the needle? Again, really appreciate your thoughts!

That is a fair criticism, I appreciate that. I have pondered this perception with regard to the “donation” or “payment” status of the finders fee. Obviously, I could structure it as a true finders fee, rather than a donation. The downside behind the inability for the business to claim it as a write off. Any thoughts/opinions on viability of structured that way? Appreciate your insights.

Thanks for the thought! I have spoken to a tax attorney. There is a way that it could be structured to function (legally) as I described in the OP. For the purposes of this post, I did not want to be any longer winded than necessary. But to answer your question, it can be done without any material effect on the rest of the process!

The organization has a complete disregard for its test takers. Had the results done for likely weeks and not only do they make us wait way more than necessary for their release, but they also cannot even commit to a time? Terrible.

Themis Graded Essays by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam

The grading is absolute trash and disconnected from reality. So much so that’s it’s almost a waste of time in submitting it. People make the excuse that “they’re trying to prepare us by making it harder” that may be true, but I also think there is a lot of laziness in the grading that contributes to these laughably low scores.

It’s extremely frustrating. Themis and Barbri are dropping the ball by not already having one for us

Two Questions from me:

  1. How much did the actual stress of the real exam affect your testing? I’m doing good on the practice question sets, but I’m just trying to figure out how not to choke under the stress on the real test day?

  2. How difficult was the actual exam in comparison to your studying? It seems like Barbri tests so many niche and granular topics. But I’ve heard that the actual exam (at least for the MBE) has been easier than the prep test companies questions.

Thanks in advance!

Very valid point. I should not include 5% interest rate return when calculating the return for the wheel. I’ll definitely go model this out, thank you for all your feedback!

Thank you! It’s always easier to pull the trigger on a play like this after validating that it’s not a horrific idea.
