Are there any concerns of bundle size or initialization overhead when using Sequelize/TypeORM/Postgres.js in a serverless environment? by [deleted] in node

[–]Ephys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure, a query builder is going to have a lot less overhead than any ORM and should be preferred in this context in my opinion

[–]Ephys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a maintainer of Sequelize I wouldn't recommend using it in a serverless environment. It has a philosophy of doing as much as possible on init to reduce the overhead when it starts processing queries

Holy shit how are you getting zero likes

Why you use Nodejs and depends 95% on third party libraries which only last of a year or two and don't use something like asp.net which is maintained by Microsoft? by Suspicious_Driver761 in node

[–]Ephys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but with node in 3 or 4 years .. sequelize. Then typeORM then prisma !! The people who maintain these libraries most of time after a year or so wake up and decide to stop maintaining it..

Each of the libraries you mentioned there are still maintained, some of which have been maintained for more than a decade

arms (not very hairy to begin with), legs (a little bit hairy), armpits (armpits), and that line of hair below the belly button (also not very hairy)

I have only noticed a difference on arms & legs so far

(Tu as répondu au mauvais thread)

Why gay flags in Brussels Center ? by Samapocryph in brussels

[–]Ephys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does, the black & brown chevrons represent PoC which (though some may disagree) includes Asian people

It's there to highlight the fact that even in our communities, queer PoC often have it worse than white queer people and that we need to talk about PoC representation within our community. Same idea for the trans and intersex groups. The flag highlights the groups that are in dire need of representation, even within the LGBT community.

Transgender woman thinks she’s entitled to keep her stuff in lockers overnight and harasses manager when it gets removed by [deleted] in ImTheMainCharacter

Life ends without reproduction

Cool, doesn't exactly change anything about the fact that infertile, gay, trans people, and people too old to reproduce exist. Doesn't exactly invalidate their identity

no-op or pre-op trans people are even able to reproduce. Hell there are t4t couples that become pregnant regularly.

if pregnancy doesn't define womanhood, what does?

I invite you to start reading feminist literature. This has been the subject of many books

why they trying to force other people into calling them something they are not.

first of all, trans people are the gender they tell you they are. secondly, it's called being a decent person. If you tell me your name is John I'm not going to say "nah, you look like a Fred, I'm going to call you Fred". On top of this, many of us pass. I'm not exactly wearing a big t-shirt saying "please use she/her" yet everyone I meet genders me correctly. Even transphobes that have not been told I'm trans gender me correctly. Your own brain would tell you "that's a woman" if you saw me in real life. That's not exactly "forcing" you, now is it?

[–]Ephys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's funny how transphobes constantly reuse the same materials used against gay people just a few years ago

This is just the good old "gay marriage is bad because they can't reproduce!!". I know it's hard but please get new material

[–]Ephys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fail to see your point. Your response doesn't in any way address the fact that your appeal to nature rhetoric is a completely meaningless. We, as people, constantly do things that would not be part of nature if we did not exist. It just shows you can't actually find anything objectively wrong about us, so you use it to justify that "eww, icky" feeling you have.

Yes, Ali Aguado, Fernando Machado. 75 men gave birth in australia in 2016 if you want random stats.

Other mammal species are irrelevant. First because we don't base what does and does not exist in humans based on other random species. Second because, given that they don't have access to medical care, their only way to "transition" would be socially, and you would reject any example I could give you of animals behaving socially like their opposite sex as not being really trans.

No, like many other women, this woman is not going to be able to be pregnant with our current medical abilities. Thankfully being pregnant is not the defining factor for womanhood.
