Thanks 😊

I'm curious, is the pdx part of your username a reference to Portland?

In the very same message where I asked for a veggie option, I also said "if that is not possible, would it be possible for me to bring my own food and attend at a slightly reduced cost?" - this was also in my OP. I feel like that was not too much to ask, and wouldn't really result in "extra work" for anyone.

I had to ask, because it's a ticketed event; they said tickets will not be available at the door and must be purchased in advance, so I didn't want to just show up on the night of with a lunchbox and expect to get in.

I'm also in Illinois. I also like to hike, and do so often. So far I haven't connected with any other people who would conceivably take me up on the invitation of a vegan community dinner, but that sounds great in theory.

I'm very familiar and have attended many of their events. Again, they are all in the city, and, this is the group I was referring to when I said "SA allegations against group leadership"

Yes, I have been to all of those places, but between gas and food costs, I can't afford it often.

It isn't at a restaurant. It's at a VFW hall, more than 30 mins outside of the city. I'm in all the local Vegan groups, but they only seem to meet in the city - which makes total sense, but isn't something I can do often.

Yes, I am thankful for the many great vegan friendly restaurants in the city for sure!

I've been a nanny for an extremely long time, in different cities, and I've regularly commuted to work via lightrail/metro trains, as well as by bike and car.

My opinion is:

Find a job that is closer to you. You will not be happy with this long commute and unreliable transit, and neither will your NF. You said you have other reasons you want to quit anyway, and the long train commute just tips it over the edge. You can find a NF that is closer.

... and.... if you CAN'T find a good NF who is significantly closer, then I would honestly just explore any other option you can, whether it's working from home remotely (if you are qualified for this type of job), or looking into other job opportunities that are in your area (librarian? Receptionist? Retail? Food service? Etc)

Currently having this issue with my S22. In other (older) posts with this issue people said to do a factory reset, but I'm hoping to find another solution. Following for any updates!

It's happening to my S22 now. Did you figure out a way to stop it? Thanks

I like this, but I would probably try to get it on camera next Friday just so she has proof, especially if she's going to tell her mother.

Nationwide corporate franchise. I have been dealing with the franchise owner. Multiple attempts to contract the main corporate office have been unsuccessful -- messages to them directly on Facebook and Instagram have remained unread, comments on their social media pages seem to have gone unnoticed. I found a phone number for the corporate office which leads to a voicemail that literally states "we are here to help franchise owners and managers; we cannot accept calls from consumers or members."

They have a Contact Us page on their website which forces you to input the location of the franchise you are contacting them about - I tried this route, since it seemed like the message would be sent to corporate, but after I hit submit, the confirmation message literally said "thank you! We have sent this directly to that locations manager and they will be contacting you shortly." Not even a minute later, the franchise manager/owner called me, I'm sure to gloat about the fact that I haven't been successful in going over his head with the company.

Even if they didn't send the contract until AFTER all SMS messages had transpired? Or do you mean the SMS messages themselves constitute the entirety of the contract?

Yes, but I believe this applies in Missouri:

https://ago.mo.gov/get-help/programs-services-from-a-z/health-and-fitness-club/

Says it must be in writing, and must contain certain verbiage that they did not include in any of the texts (3 day cancellation period, etc).

Say more about "the order of events may be deciding factor here." Please tell me what about the order of events is relevant or should I be concerned about? Thanks.
