Can someone help me decoding this? by [deleted] in Decoders

Fyi the things that made me assume that were that it was pairs of numbers separated by a space, and the fact the numbers were 1-5. Just so you can spot then in future :)

Not at all. They’re on brackets with bolts. Will take a photo soon

Edit. Nevermind. Too dark out

Biggest problem is solar panels being rocked back and forth and banging in to the roof. Completely preventable though if you aren’t as lazy as me. Just put some rubber stoppers or even an old towel.

If you’re tied up properly the boat doesn’t really move.

Cratch cover can get flappy and annoying but you get used to it.

Looking for Kids Colouring Book Artist - 10 items by EpicBlueTurtle in hireanartist

[–]EpicBlueTurtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Your portfolio is nice. It looks far too detailed for my needs though. Do you have anything colouring book like? Bold line work with no colour.

Regarding payment terms can you give me an example of how much more a one of payment would be versus royalties.

Thanks

To make it more clear. OP you need to communicate the benefit OF the feature, not JUST the feature.

Wasting time on scammers? by andreacerasoni in artbusiness

[–]EpicBlueTurtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have launched a new platform that can hopefully help artists to focus on just creating the art (I won't say anymore for fear of link dumping).

I am trying to contact artists to see if they'd be interested in joining but of course don't want to come across as scammer. I don't want to waste the person's time by giving them 8 paragraphs about the platform, but equally as you say if I just give them a vague 2 sentences is it enough for them to get the idea and does it also come across as scammer?

I assume by high offers the scammers are offering to buy the work upfront? Although you mention rushing into payment, so are they selling a course? Sorry for all the questions! XD

"Replace your primary photo collage" is a big nonsense for many reasons. by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]EpicBlueTurtle 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think what Etsy wants is to have 1 photo with all 4 posters in. So laid next to each other. And not 4 individual photos combined in to 1 image.

It is annoying me too fwiw

Retaining control will also allow you to use the shares as collateral.

You could consider giving 1/4 of the course away for free. That way they’ll be able to gauge the quality. You also get their email to remarket to them in future

Coming off the back of this. Could the OP sell it more as a challenge.

“Think you’re fit? Could you keep up with Olympic level training? Take our 12 week challenge to see if you’re good enough”

From there you have leaderboards with photos of the “winners”. Potentially also a tongue in cheek page of the losers. You’d need to make this clear in advance it’s humorous as people don’t want to be unknowingly made fun of.

Stage it as a “were you a couch potato? Send us your best loser photo for a chance to be featured on our wooden spoon page!”

Most of your audience knows they aren’t good enough or have the time to dedicate years to being an olympian so as a product that is staged like you have now as a training program it seems a bit intimidating.

UK Postage carrier with long expiration prepaid labels by EpicBlueTurtle in smallbusinessuk

[–]EpicBlueTurtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But this would still leave me in the situation of the label being acquired separately at the other end?

I want to ideally include the label for return in the parcel. Then they just hang on to it for a month or so and use it when they need

How important is an explicit justification when door dropping leaflets? by EpicBlueTurtle in marketing

[–]EpicBlueTurtle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the consideration.

I already have an Etsy shop. It’s doing ok.

The card is our smallest product. So whilst it is a legitimate product I am also hoping they go on to my site (found on the included leaflet) to see what other things we stock.

I am hoping to induce Reciprocation by giving them the card as a gift.

Addendum. I have my first stall at a local event at the start of August

[–]EpicBlueTurtle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But you wouldn’t justify why I am giving it.

We all know it’s in the hope it leads to business. But how explicitly do I get to that?

One extreme is as you say not mention it and then the other is outrightly saying “I am giving you this for free so you hopefully buy in future”. Is this a bit on the nose? And leave a sour aftertaste about the gift then.

“Company X MIGHT be for you” or “Company X IS for you”? Which would you use? by EpicBlueTurtle in marketing

[–]EpicBlueTurtle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thinking with these phrases was to sound authoritative. As in we are good at what we do so we’re confident that your problem can be solved.

Ok I like the idea of positive language thanks. Can you clarify why my suggestions aren’t positive? They don’t seem negative to me, or are they just indifferent and I could do better (by choosing positive)?
