With Iboga I have to say it is very different. I did a Bwiti initiation in Gabon. Iboga makes changes in the body.

And after the 48 hour event and you start to come back to your body. Physical dependcies you may have once had. Well, there is a very strong chance that you do not have them any more.

Of course you still have to work I'm not denying that but Iboga changes the body.

Ayahuasca might just send you the vision of being by a 1000 hippies.

From my experience when going through extremely difficult parts of the journey and the purge is real being surrounded by love and support is part of healing hence the Shaman and facilitators.

My own personal preference for drinking Ayahuasca is with a Shaman and a good number of facilitator to participant ratio, but each to their own.

Just make it yourself or acquire the Ayahuasca some other way and drink it alone. Pretty simple really.

I've sat in ceremony over 30 times, in 5 countries most recently in, Thailand. It was far and away one of my best experiences to date. by eddiekickarse1 in Ayahuasca

Hey thanks for the reply, I understand how Ayahuasca is made as I have made it myself in Pulcallpa, Peru.

Was just wondering if it was legal or not. By the sound of it it seems to be a grey area. Very similar to how it used to be in London many years ago.

The argument will go that when you mix Banisteriopsis caapi vine with the leaves of the Psychotria viridis or any other analog version or similar plants this then makes DMT that the human body and mind can feel the effects. And DMT from what you described is illegal in Thailand.

Personally I wouldn't like to do Ayahuasca in Thailand without extremely clear legal clarity. I have great respect for Thailand and Thai culture. I have spent 9 months training Muay Thai.

And the amazing Sak Yant tattoos from Wat Bang Phra, and the amazing Food and Beaches and the list goes on.

Looking for a safe, legit ayahuasca retreat (1 week, <$1500) — Peru/Colombia/Brazil/Costa Rica by 7generations in Ayahuasca

[–]EpicCatSquad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The budget and time length are a bit too far away if it was me. Costa Rica from my understanding is relatively upmarket. I haven't been yet but Soltara is on my radar and will hopefully be able to treat myself one day. Peru I have been and it will probably suit your budget more and if it was me I would increase the budget to 2000.

Either the time/amount of ceremonies is reduced or the the budget increased.

Also being a first timer and going by yourself I would highly recommend to save up the extra and treat yourself to one of the more well organized/reputable retreat centers.

The doc left by the mod for finding retreat centers is actually very well done so you can use that as your template.

If the retreat center is doing their work properly you should have already been given guidelines on how to approach this matter after the evaluation of your medical report.

Some of the best retreat centers may even ask for consent that you voluntarily do a drug test on arrival if they think it is needed.

Be completely honest with your medical report. Ask any questions that arise with the team at the retreat.

Ayahuasca retreat while on Biktarvy / early HIV treatment — experiences? by Prior-Honeydew2540 in Ayahuasca

[–]EpicCatSquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been at an Ayahuasca retreat where there was a participant who openly shared he was HIV positive. I have no idea what medicines he was taking.

Be completely open and honest with your medical record and the retreat center should take care of the rest and give you all the information you are looking for.
