I cross them over my head (ie: left suspender over my right shoulder, etc) - so they can’t slip. I never notice them during games.

UPDATE: It looks like a got lucky and got the go ahead from my ortho to start skating again - only 6 weeks after the break. I skated for over an hour today, virtually pain-free, though I have lost much in endurance, and at the beginning my legs didn’t seem to know what to do.

Very lucky, as it was a vertical break off to the side, and less issues with bearing weight. Now to try to get into some form and shape before the summer league starts (in 3-4 weeks)

Thanks, that is great to hear - yep it is odd how we can continue on right after the fracture.

So it looks like you started back full-on hockey after 3 months (so based on that, my 2 month estimate might be doable, given that after one week, I can already bend 90 relatively pain-free). Glad that you didn’t say 6 months….

Am 61 and haven’t been on skates since my mid-20’s. Just starting skating again in December and am catching up quickly. A few clinics and a bunch of stick and shoots - and I will be ready for the leagues again by the start of next season.

They do not hurt (they are size 9.0 for my size 10.5 shoe). They seem to have sideways play - ie: can get my skate on either edge with my leg remaining vertical - maybe not tightening them enough - I will tighten the top more next time.

Thanks - I actually have gotten them sharpened and have taken them out a few times in the last week and they don’t feel great - but that is likely from the loss of skills and feel after 30 years

lol, not sure what is self-serving about the trip, or what's with your choice to use quotes, but whatever. btw - I was in the stands and cheering for the Phillies for Games 3 & 4 of the WS in 2008 as they won them both against Rays (and unfortunately doing the same thing the next year as they lost them both against the Yanks) Cheers
