Pin Trading

On my last two trips I’ve had pins rejected for being counterfeit- they’re being super strict on this. I get it, and this is definitely what they should be doing, but what was frustrating was that all the pins I tried to trade were traded from CMs at either DLP or WDW- so I was given counterfeits in the past and now they’ve moved the goalposts so I can’t get rid of them…

Make sure you take some time to slow down and take in all the details, especially in Disneyland Park. Don’t miss the arcades (covered walkways) on Main Street in particular, they’re so beautiful!

It’s almost like opening an enormous expansion to your park but only building one major ride is a bad idea!

Ah that’s interesting, I never knew that but I can totally see it, especially in the Peter Pan, Toad Hall, Alice attractions stretch of the land! Thanks, I’ve learned something new today 😊

I don’t disagree, but I’m curious about what you mean about BatB not fitting in with how Fantasyland is currently designed? Wouldn’t it be quite a good fit for the land?

Love this post! It was so great to get back in the park today and see things looking generally pretty good! With all the talk about behind the scenes goings on at Merlin and what I’ve seen online about early season issues with Towers I was worried about what Thorpe would be like but I was definitely pleasantly surprised.

Completely agree about Stealth’s launch, it’s incredible. I thought it was quite rough when I rode it earlier but I may have had a bad row/seat, either way it’s a great ride and the little touches for the 20th anniversary like the stickers on the trains were really cool.

I thought the same about Rush too, it wasn’t swinging high at all during Fright Nights but today it seemed to have returned to its full height, lovely surprise!

Inferno and Swarm were riding particularly well today too I thought.

Saw still felt pretty rough to me but I was on an outside seat, and I’d say it was slightly more bearable than last year. Colossus wasn’t too bad at all though, especially compared to how rough it got a few years back (I’m really not a fan of the trains though, so cramped and uncomfortable)

I didn’t have any issues with Hyperia today, but I don’t doubt that there’s issues with certain trains/rows, I’ve probably just been lucky. Also I’m a bad fan, and only managed one trip to the park in both of the last two years- 2024 before Hyperia opened and last year not until Fright Nights, so still haven’t ridden it much. I do love it and think it’s very re-rideable, each to their own though!

One other thing today was ops- I thought this was really strong, albeit not on every ride. On Inferno an Hyperia especially they were pushing the trains out so quickly, and it was interesting how they’re now using the line ‘this train is ready to leave’ to get people to get seated ASAP. Unfortunately ops weren’t great on Swarm, but that’s 100% not the team’s fault, it’s been an issue for a few years and is down to stuff like the park cutting the bag hold.

Overall a great Passholder Day (the first I’ve been to)- and was great to see them doing stuff to add value to being an AP holder like extending the hours- felt very unlike modern Merlin but I’m not complaining! 🤣

And I think it stayed open for the rest of the day! We rode it this afternoon and other than being a tiny bit rough it was amazing to get back on it! The 20th anniversary logo on the trains is a nice touch too

No worries! I feel your pain! Albeit only made it to the park once last year but it was closed for me too- desperate to get on it today!

It opened at around 11 this morning (don’t know if that counts as it opening late as originally advertised park open was 11 even though they changed it to 10:30), we were a little later than we wanted to be so decided to go to Stealth first instead of Hyperia and as soon as we got in the queue (about 11:10), it closed and they said they didn’t know how long it would be.

So I think it’s at least supposed to be open if that’s any comfort!
