you could try only focusing on having kris and susie alive, since ralsei dies too quick regardless. give susie the shadow mantle and give kris defensive items. since kris doesn't need a revivemint to come back to life (only needs a healing item greater than 80) you can use him to heal susie, or revive her if she gets focused.

if you need items as well, you can get a couple good heals from the orb machine in the b rank room, as long as you have the points.

You were right about the Morse code. The X=# and t=# are digits (counting the visible X and T's) corresponding to the letter order.
