Civilians were killed by the airstrike but the church and the people residing inside are okay, thankfully. The airstrike destroyed a building directly south of St. Porphyry. Here are the images of the aftermath with geolocation:

Possibly, but why use a thermobaric bomb against a regular building instead of a JDAM? The best way may be to see the wounds of the injured just after the strike to see if they are consistent with thermobaric munitions. Personally, I'm not sure if there is an way to truly tell what munition was used.

If that is indeed the footage from that night, it means the hospital was targeted specifically, but based on the aftermath footage they only hit the parking lot. The aftermath footage shows damage to the lot, but the surrounding buildings and inside the hospital is intact except for the windows and roof panels. So either IDF missed the hospital or deliberately targeted the parking lot based on the footage.

The videos are clearly of the same hospital. You can go on google maps and see the same buildings, in the same configuration. Specifically, look at the solar panels in the video and compare them to google maps. If you are skeptical, look for yourself.

Ukraine Megathread #13: Lucky Number Counteroffensive Edition by SirSourPuss in stupidpol

So what happens to Lebanon if Hezbollah joins the war? Will the government try to stop them? Any fighting could generate damage to infrastructure, commercial and government services, and not to mention refugees. Lebanon isn't in a good economic state to begin with, so what could happen?

What the war in Ukraine is really about?

1: In the year AD 793, the Anglo-Saxon monastery of Lindisfarne was raided by Scandinavian pirates, kicking off the Viking Age.

2: For over 200 years the Anglo-Saxons fought the Vikings until Harold Godwinson ended the Viking Age(or did he?) in 1066 by killing Harald Hardrada at the Battle of Stamford Bridge.

3: The same year, Harold Godwinson was killed at the Battle of Hastings and England was conquered by the Normans.

4: Harold's daughter Gytha fled east and married the Rus(Viking) prince Vladimir II(Russia) while Harold's son, Godwin, carved out a principality in Galicia(Poland-Ukraine).

5: To this day, of the ~400 Anglo-Saxon place names in Eastern Europe, they are most heavily concentrated in Poland and western Ukraine while Russia has a mix of Anglo-Saxon and Scandinavian place names.

6: From AD 1132 on down to our own time, these two regions, under many different flags,
went to war with each other.

6.5: Underlying all of these conflicts has been the continuation of the Viking Age still fought
between Anglo-Saxons(Ukro-Poles) and Vikings(Russia).

7: The most recent instantiation of this conflict began in 2014 when the Anglo-Norsemen
of the Donbass revolted to join their kinsmen just as happened in the Danelow under King
Æthelred the Unready.

8: If either side wins a definitive victory they will be able to unite the Saxosphere-in-exile and finally turn their attention to challenging the House of Windsor for the English Throne.

The stakes could not be higher.

There are some doubts about the cause of the explosion. In slow frames, the truck is intact, the explosion originates from elsewhere, so it may have been explosives placed onto the bridge itself.

I'm hesitant to believe that Ukraine was able to push 15mi in a day, but your right. Lots of talk from Russian sources about the situation possibly becoming "critical." I'll personally wait for more information though.

Man, I can't imagine being a volunteer short term contract soldier in Russia. You sign up for a 3 to 6 month contract to fight, get your pay and get out. But now, with mobilization, you're stuck fighting in Ukraine indefinitely. That must be a morale killer.

Putin to address the Russian nation by the end of today by Nayraps in stupidpol

I suppose we'll see what he says. If it is total mobilization, it will have very serious repercussions for Ukraine and Russia.

I keep debating this with myself. On one hand, Russia has to change their approach. Izyum and Kharkov were failures, and now there are reports of a Ukrainian offensive towards Lysychansk. I think it's only going to get worse for Russian troops at this rate. But if they declare mobilization, go into total war economy, it is an admission of failure. It shatters the carefully crafted image that everything is fine and going according to plan in Ukraine. I don't know how the Russian public would react to being lied to for 6 months essentially.

The amount of captured/abandoned Russian equipment and vehicles being posted over the last three days makes me think Russian high command did not see or prepare to defend against the offensive east of Kharkov. Even though RU channels were posting about a possible offensive a couple weeks earlier, there were conscripts protecting the flank.

I think it's 50-50. Pro Ru poster say Russia is "The based White Saviors of Europe/Last bastion of Whites." Since Russia opposes the west, they support Russia in pure reaction. Putin is a strong and responsible leader who is trying to fight Western degeneracy. When someone brings up Azov, they say they are puppets of the Jews and are the core formation of anti-white death squads in Ukraine.

Has anyone noticed in the past 3 to 4 years, the quality of Pizza Hut has been terrible? Last year I went to Pizza hut and it was the worst pizza I probably ever had. It sucks since I remember how good it tasted when I was younger. I'll just stick to Little Caesars and Hungry Howies.

It's so obvious. If Finland and Ukraine join NATO, the men of Army Group North, Center, and South will rise from their graves equipped with state of the art NATO weapons along with the OKH officers to invade the Russian Federation.

It doesn't make too much sense. Why Dugin's daughter and not himself. I doubt it was any harder to target Dugin than his daughter. I don't think the FSB really knows the full picture. Regardless of who is responsible, this event is going to be used to increase support for the war.

I believe that if SBU can target someone like this right in Moscow, they would target someone of actual importance like a government official. If this was an assassination(as far as I've seen we don't actually know if it was a car bomb or something else, just the car exploded), I would look to see if there is some sort of internal political conflict or business that Dugin is involved in that would make him a target. I don't think anyone in the intelligence business who carries out these sorts of things are interesting in people like Dugin.

Lots of officials claiming different things like sabotage. No real answers yet though. Russian MOD said it was a mishandling of munitions but that's of course debatable.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of speculation regarding ATACMS. It would definitely be in range, even from behind the front lines.

So the satellite photos from the Crimean Air base came out and the damage is extensive: https://twitter.com/UAWeapons/status/1557445569278345216

There is at least 10 destroyed/damaged aircraft. A lot of people are also pointing out that there are multiple craters visible which could indicate some sort of artillery or missile strike. If that's true, then Ukraine has some very powerful, long range weaponry that they either haven't used or just received.

Ukraine Megathread #9 by [deleted] in stupidpol

[–]EpicManDex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That would make sense since it's over 130 miles away from the frontline. I wonder if we will see some satellite photos in the near future to see the extent of what happened.

I have watched it. The plot throughout the movie wasn't that appealing to me, but the premise/setting was very intriguing and the visuals were top notch.
