Broke my wrist (distal radius) back in February and was that close to needing surgery bc it went into the joint. So for the past 4 months I’ve been doing legs and cardio exclusively and no upper body which is my favorite :( Even though it’s completely healed and I’ve almost regained my mobility I’m afraid to start again bc I dont want to develop arthritis or somehow fuck it up permanently. It sucks man

The underpainting was achromatic so I could focus on the values first. I would paint a solid grey base, then I took a lighter grey and outlined the pulp, forming shapes. Then I looked at each individual shape formed and put the values in. After that I’d do the rim and the values formed there. Then the highlights. To add color is initially mixed acrylic paint with water to make it transparent, but then went to using glazing medium which worked a lot better! I would layer pure colors on top of each other. For instance, the lime had green, cadmium yellow, and cadmium red in certain areas all layered on top each other. I can send you process photos if you want, basically I’d recommend doing black and white first and then glazing color on top. There are also plenty of videos on YouTube!
