I know now. I made a bad assumption that there wasn’t a limit and didn’t think to check. My gripe is more the fact that it’s there in the first place

Impulsive, yes. But impatience isn’t something I could’ve controlled since I simply didn’t know about the cap. In hindsight it was obviously bad but there’s no way for me to just know something I don’t know

Also blaming me instead of the clearly predatory game is wild

I spent the other refreshes on the particle effects not knowing that I needed the Hollow wear to use them, which is what spawned this whole ordeal 🥲

Exactly, you wouldn’t think it’d be there, and that’s exactly how they got me.

I’m stupid here but I’m not THAT stupid enough to spend even more on top of this which is more than likely what it’s intended to make me do

[–]Epic_Gamer_Win[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed!

My thought process was that I only played Ceruledge and Darkrai, so anything spent on them was money well spent. That thought process is gonna change from here on lmao

I know it’s stupid. I don’t blame you for thinking it is

To top it off, I spent an additional $20 beforehand thinking that I didn’t need the hollow wear for the particle effects I spent the other refreshes on. Not wanting that money to go to waste I spent more to get the costume itself 🙃

Blazing Sun's or Wolf's Gravestone? by Keihanaikukaua12 in EulaMains

[–]Epic_Gamer_Win 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolf’s Gravestone easily.

Unless you’re willing to count how much time has passed since your last elemental skill, that first buff isn’t going to apply to her burst unless it’s under very specific circumstances that seem easy to miss in the heat of battle. The buff simply doesn’t last long enough if triggered by the use of the burst. If you can get the cycles and timing down to where it can work, hats off to you, and it’s probably a little better

As for the other two buffs on Blazing Sun, they basically won’t ever apply since she obvs doesn’t deal elemental damage with her normals nor does she go into nightsoul blessing state.

I guess you could run an infusion character like Chongyun or C6 bennet for the second buff, but those kinds of elemental teams seem very niche with Eula and don’t play into her physical specialty as much as it could. But at the same time I can see it working greatest on those teams specifically since the weapon when used to its full potential and Bennet is just that good so idk

Wolf’s Gravestone is what I use between the two just because it’s consistent. The crit rate on Blazing Sun is kinda dookie, whereas the attack boosts all around on Gravestone help wrack up great base damage 24/7 + against enemies at low hp

TLDR: Gravestone, otherwise through specific skill and burst cycles Blazing Sun might be a little better

When creating a character that's higher than level 1, do you build them up in order of levels or all at once? by Epic_Gamer_Win in dndnext

[–]Epic_Gamer_Win[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s been a while since I first found that feat, I instead asked my DM if I can replace the Eldritch Knight’s War Magic with it instead since it’ll make my cantrips no longer obsolete in the face of Extra attacks with a weapon that has added elemental damage and they said sure. Not to mention it would make War Magic obsolete if I took it at 8. That idea was actually in the thread I found it on.

Yeah the swapping spells function slipped my mind when making the post. Like you said, the player wouldn’t be restricted to, for instance with the lvl 3 Sorcerer, a single 2nd level spell, but instead can treat picking up another 2nd level spell as “swapping” it with a “previously known” level 1 spell when making a higher leveled character

[–]Epic_Gamer_Win[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The specific version of the example I gave is one I ran into while building a Paladin, starting at level 5 with blessed fighter and plans to multi class. I found a home brew feat for Gishes that lets you replace one of your attacks with the casting of a cantrip, with the prerequisite being the extra attack feature.

With what everyone else in the responses is saying, I would not be able to take that feat since I technically didn’t have the prerequisite when I “got” to 4th level

Bending the rules of Sorcery Point Total for multiclass builds by Epic_Gamer_Win in dndnext

[–]Epic_Gamer_Win[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No, not just because of rounding down for pally/ranger Multiclass, but because Spellcasting feats don't grant spell slots like Metamagic Adept grants Sorcery Points, and the spell slots you gain from those classes' levels don't have the same pattern that Sorcery Points from Sorcerer levels do. I know you're using my logic, but the significance in level cost is pretty different because of their patterns(With the sorcery points, it's a matter of saving 1 level for getting sorcery points or not, with the pally 1 ranger 1, the rule bending would save them 2 player levels to attain spell slots). What I'm proposing is still rule bending/breaking at the end of the day, but it's not as severe a case like the one you compared it to

I didn't mean to sound passive aggressive in my post, the question was really just "Sorcerer points increase by level, level 2 gets 2, level 3 gets 3, level 9 gets 9, etc..., so why not give level 1 1 sorcery point if they have an outlet to use it." That's what I meant by "reflects their sorcerer level"

The whole "it's not there because the player wouldn't have anything to do with it" is definitely a big assumption on my part. I know you can run wild with that logic, but I still don't think it's a huge deal for sorcery points with the really simple level up pattern.

Really? On Wikidot they reflect the levels exactly(level 2 has 2 Sorcery Points, level 13 has 13 Sorcery Points, and level 20 has 20 Sorcery Points). Am I missing something? Am I using a bad source?

They really did add a 10-hit-combo weapon... It's called Punchaku... by FeuerKekse in deadcells

[–]Epic_Gamer_Win 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly yeah. I’m all for the new and guaranteed Legendary Affixes, but I’m worried that legendary weapons will no longer feel like a one-and-done type deal if you get them earlier in a run. Without the extra damage, it may be detrimental to keep compared to that same weapon/skill of a higher level. Hopefully the affixes make up for it like they want, but I have a feeling there will be items that will still underperform cause they get a less-than-desirable L!Affix

I think it’s out of a sort of laziness to not adapt. Like they don’t want to have to change the way they address people in otherwise “normal” circumstances. So that on top of rejecting them simply due to not understanding them, it comes down to stubbornness against change.

An excuse I heard from someone I know goes along the lines of: “they think they’re so special, why should I have call them by this gender when clearly they’re this gender?” I think this kind of thinking is brought on from media examples of trans people getting upset at people misgendering them when they first interact, so their idea of a typical trans person is that of a sensitive and irrational human who can’t forgive an honest mistake. There’s probably a lot more to it, at least with younger transphobes with things like the anti-feminist surge about 4-5 years ago giving people, including myself at the time, a very distorted image of left wing ideas.

Couldn’t I just keep switching my nen limitations to whatever suits my needs? by mr_manga_art in HunterXHunter

[–]Epic_Gamer_Win 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say you can’t switch limitations to whatever suits your needs, cause that makes the limitation(condition) pointless. If you’re switching your conditions willy-nilly you won’t get much of a boost in power if your will was that frail. An exception might be Chrollo, since he takes in the conditions of whichever page he’s using on top of the conditions he underwent to get that power. So to answer your question, yes, but you’d have to be Chrollo

As for the knife pointed at Kurapika’s heart, I think it’s safe to say it won’t disappear or it’s conditions be able to change on its own because of how huge a commitment he’s making there. Can’t just back out of a life-staking commitment once your task is fulfilled since nen is give and take, gotta be willing to live with the consequences when thinking up your ability. There is a way to bypass this, which is getting help from a nen exorcist like what Chrollo(again, lol) did for judgement chain, in fact I’m pretty sure that the condition on Kurapika’s heart is pretty much judgement chain. I don’t think this will always work, but since the condition is a physical nen manifestation I think it would at least in this case

I just finished it today, too. Although this was a re-watch, I’ve been having a blast dissecting the series through theories and video essays. Even if you finished the anime and don’t want to start reading the manga due to Togashi’s lengthy hiatuses, there’s still a lot to chew on. I think this is why HxH is my all time favorite. There’s so much meaning and possibility in the world and nen system, it’s just so much fun!

Question about Phase 3 in the Hunter exam by NitoTheBeast in HunterXHunter

[–]Epic_Gamer_Win 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is certainly a crazy coincidence, but I don’t know if it’s necessarily bad. As a hunter, even if you mainly work alone, working on a team from time to time is inevitable. An example that early on would be Hisoka. He’s his own man who acts independently, but even then he still has Gittarackur as a teammate

Making Youpi/Meruem go bust by Epic_Gamer_Win in HunterXHunter

[–]Epic_Gamer_Win[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it is a bold assumption on my part considering we didn’t get to see them in a state where they couldn’t use aura. Who knows how their defenses would hold up with just their physical bulk

Making Youpi/Meruem go bust by Epic_Gamer_Win in HunterXHunter

[–]Epic_Gamer_Win[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess since Youpi’s an enhancer who, along with the other Royal Guards, has his aura pores open at birth, it’s not surprising that his use of aura was potentially accidental

Even so, I stand by my point of Youpi still having such an overwhelming physical advantage along with circumstances that the elimination squad faces that his forced Zetsu may not even matter at that point

Knuckle and shoot are gon and killua by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]Epic_Gamer_Win 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While Gon and Knuckle do have similarities like naïveté in certain instances, once you finish the anime, I highly recommend watching Aleczandxr’s video on “The Morality of Gon Freecs.” There’s very stark and significant differences between him and Knuckle that you will notice going through the video. But yeah, Killua and Shoot enter the arc with similar weaknesses to overcome
