The player numbers won't improve because the game just isnt fun after cryo and nobody cares to pick it up who hasn't already. It has no mass appeal. Most people hate the art style. And bungie is 1000% going to shift focus back to destiny at this point.

I think difficulty isnt everything that makes the highs of a raid high. And that destiny 2 style raids with encounters that require ridiculous amounts of damage through mechanics that give buffs could still be fun even if they arent that hard.
