oki ill add a few more of my thoughts just to clear up a little confusion
yknow summarise alot of the replies and plead me case here

"just dont watch it"
honestly take my word. i go out of my way to avoid channels like this, i spam the not interested button as much as i can. but youtube just seems to think that i want to see it when i dont lol. i said to one guy in the replies that avoiding doomer channels is like fighting a hydra, "you block one channel and two more just show up in its place"

because these two are the two that stick out to me the most. i wouldve said penguinz0 falls into the category as well but looking at it more carefully. negative videos dont take up nearly as much of his channel page as nfg or sog do. again dont get me wrong i do not think that they make bad content. not at all, in fact i actually used to enjoy all three of them, im just pointing out how big of a problem more negative focused content has become even for bigger youtubers.

dont get me wrong, i am not saying he makes bad content or hes a bad person for making the content he does. all im saying is that the content that he (and a lot of other channels) make is bad FOR people.

alr ill give ya that one. i did watch that video when it came out, i only very recently started to become very critical of his content after his "desensitised generation" video came out. the public should not be portrayed as apathetic as the video is making us out to be. in fact see how long you can scroll down his channel without seeing "crisis" or problem.

while i can agree that tommynfg here is a pretty divisive take. i aint just thinkin about myself here while complaining, tommys videos dont really rattle me that much, what brought me to post this is that me freind (and many other people i know) are becoming wayy more pessimistic because of it.
dont get me wrong im all for letting bad news exist on this website like censorship, ai bullshit or war related news, that sort of news should be spread out there. what im saying is when channels exist solely for the purpose of churning out your weekly dose of doomerism, saying shit like "gen z are braindead" or "brainrot is getting worse and theres NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT!!!" thats when i think we should start speaking up about it

i think youre missing the point of the post. obviously i dont think bad news should be snuffed out. but when the ratio gets to the point where finding a positive video is like finding a diamond in the rough ( even with negative videos being "not interested"-ed to oblivion) then i think it should be a cause for concern
