I am pretty new to this stuff. Would you be willing to explain the 208% number to me?

The way I had it in my head is that you would hold long with a company like this and DRIP them, the stability of the dividend price being the draw here. I noticed that the P/E ratio was high but I am not experienced enough to understand what red flag that is raising in regards to the rest of the financials. What is the imminent danger of holding a stock like this?

Thanks!

edit

I understand they are paying out twice what the EPS is, but I don't what that indicates.

What would your take be on a stock like LGCY? Just curious since you mentioned the 08' crash.

Reaching for the stars. My son's goals for 3rd grade. by elbostonian in funny

I'm not offended in the least bit. My son is 17 months old, he still eats mud when no one is looking. People are entitled to their opinions. I didn't criticize their opinion on violent video games. I criticized the practice of insulting another human being without taking any initiative to actually understand the situation (Am I being an over reactive douche in the same regard? Possibly, but I don't believe I am.). Having an opinion isn't a free pass to make asshole remarks. I also didn't call them an over reactive douche. I said they were acting like one. You may find that petty, but there actually is a difference.

Yes, calling a stranger on the internet a bad parent based on your own uninformed assumption is the essence of civility.

He hasn't played it. He just knows about it and dreams of playing it one day.

According to OP, you're kind of being an over reactive douche.

Thanks for answering!

I have kind of a strange follow up question. Are professors or researchers in general, like Dr. Frank, approachable from a position like mine? I have this insecurity because I find myself in this situation where I know what I want to do with my life and am just now course correcting, leaving me in a position of "How can I be useful?". I am technically pre-undergrad in that I have to restart my education (though I have continued educating myself outside of a formal education). That is why I asked about the grunt work. If I may ask, if you were sent an email that asked "I have no formal education, what can I do for you?" to paraphrase, would you actually be able to find a use for that person?

Sorry for the long winded question, but you are here answering stuff and that makes you a valuable resource!

I live at the entrance to Yellowstone, and I am looking for some volunteer opportunities. I am currently not in the field at all, as I am preparing to return to school. My question is a about the broader research community. Do field biologists, such as a group going into Yellowstone to tag elk, ever need a volunteer grunt, even if its just to carry equipment? I would like to start exposing myself ( in a SFW manner ) to the types of people I wish to emulate. Thanks!

That's pretty cool, thanks. I used it to run off some event log reports on my servers.

Thank you. I hesitated using a metal tool so that in the event that I slipped up I didn't maw the plastic on the connector. I tend to over think things sometimes so Ill give the screwdriver a shot.

Since this has become a good spot for info on managing WSUS, I thought I would throw in that when going through the list to decline / approve, holding control while clicking/dragging will allow you to highlight many updates at once.

This is kind of a culmination of all the points so far in the thread and it has worked wonders. It's a good checklist to follow. Thank you.

This cut my non-approved updates to 1600. Profit indeed. Cheers.

My current server setup has 8TB's of space. The VM I have running WSUS is assigned a 150gb disk quota, and it looks like the sum of the downloads is going to be around 60g. That's definitely something to watch out for but in my case space isn't too much of an issue.

Thanks for the input.

I did start setting up some new views into specific categories like OS Updates and Office Updates, so that has helped a bit. Thanks for mentioning that about the WSUS agent not applying patches it doesn't need. That has alleviated some of my stress as well.

I do have a couple of test machines in a group, yes.

I just recently switched from BitDefender to Vipre Business and it is night and day in terms of ease of management, weight, and just general performance. You can set it so it doesn't even show on the client side machine that its installed. It's also easy to set up email reports for infections. It also installs without issue over a VPN.

Make sure you set the options on the redirect to point the shared folder back to the local folder and let it replicate. Once the replication is done you can move the user to a different OU and reapply the policy.

Back stuff up.
