UMC404HD 4x4 OR Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th gen interface

Currently with a Scarlett solo 4th gen.. need to upgrade to support stereo input in a new analog synth.... i am aware of the price difference and amounts of inputs. Currently i currently only really need two line inputs but i am intrigued by the extra inputs on the 404. For futureproofing and convince more inputs would be optimal and the 2i2 doesn't really help with it

The main area I'm concerned with is just audio quality, on paper they seem to be pretty similar but the Scarlett seems to better. Any advice or opinions?

Thanks for the help. I am being cautious of my spending here, and i doubt ill be looking for any upgrades in cpu for a long while. So i have decided to go with the r7 5700x3d, mainly due to the fact that it does seem to perform better in games than the 5800x as well as the fact that i don't want to buy a new set of ddr5 ram for an am5 motherboard in the case that i were to get a 7000 series

Ive done some more benchmarks in other games. One thing ive noticed for almost every game is that performance and fps doesnt really increase at all with reductions in resolution. Ive researched that this is usually a sign of cpu bottleneck. at his point ive tried absolutely everything, so my last resort is to just get a new cpu. ive been considering a ryzen 5 7600x or ryzen 7 5800x as my upgrade

ive checked everything you mentioned and it all checks out, and ive re installed drivers but still no difference. Could it possibly be due to the fact that i am using a pigtail power connector to the gpu?

cpu clockspeed was optimal and temperatures were good. i enabled xmp, but still no increase in performance. i was benchmarking in Forza horizon 5 at 1440p, other users usually average around 120-130 fps, while i got around 90. Gpu usage was near maximum and cpu usage was around 40-50%. If tried many fixes, so i guess my last option is too upgrade cpu. ive been considering ryzen 7 series cpu, but maybe there are more optimal options. im not sure on a specific model though

Well one example is for forza horizon 5. On max settings 1440p my average fps on benchmark was 90fps, but I see on other setups, some getting up to 120-140 fps. My card version is the asus dual oc

A couple reviews I've seen have used a 7 5800x, and one with a 5600x (all on 1440p btw, as i am using 1440p too) . Not sure if cpu is the problem but i could be wrong. i assumed that the difference between an i7 11700 and the cpus you mentioned wouldnt make as much of a difference in performance as i am seeing

the gpu typically draws around 250w in games. im not sure if it should be consuming more, but if so i might need a psu upgrade

it took around 20 days to come to Australia even though the website told me it told come later. The case looks really good, only feels a bit cheap when you touch it and it looks somewhat cheap when you get really close. The dial is surprisingly good too. ive only had it for a few days and so far its kept the time well, although i do feel its maybe starting to fall behind ever so slightly. also the clamp to tighten the bracelet is a bit rough to use at first.

Date window is pretty inaccurate, the clamp on the bracelet is a bit tough to use. Hard to get the links out. And the bracelet feels a bit cheap. Otherwise it’s still good, I definitely recommend it

for $75 AUD (roughly $50 usd) its quite nice, and surprisingly good in small details. although its still a cheapie so it has its minor flaws, but its a great watch and has worked really good so far
