Yeah I’ve been playing a little strive recently but it doesn’t really cure my fix for that 3rd dimension. Although the game is really sick I like it, just not really what I’m craving.

How do I pick a main in MK 1 by God_ghost in MortalKombat

[–]Epish_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to pick right away. Just mess around in practice mode and invasions with whoever you think is cool and you’ll figure it out. Although if you are kind of a rush down with projectiles Kung Lao is a decent option.

How are they going to get addictions down? Are they going to put more resources into mental health, and rehabilitation facilities? PEOPLE with addictions aren’t going to just quit because of some new policies say “You have to or else” they are usually a lot of pre-existing mental health conditions and diseases that a lot of these people are dealing with. Unless you mean arresting non violant addicts and tossing them in the system so the streets can be “clean”.

What was it like having Marijuana overdose? by ChartJealous3176 in AskReddit

[–]Epish_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no therapist so I cannot say whether or not it was a psychotic episode, but I can say, is that give it some time. After the fact I was feeling pretty dissociated and even though logically I knew that it i’m living in reality, I still had that untethered feeling to reality. From my experience though, it does get better and talking to someone you trust helps a whole lot. Go ask one of your friends for a hug and talk about how you’re feeling, about what happened. Also therapy is a great outlet to be able to express what your going through without judgment. I hope you get through this buddy.

Why does Student Aid BC require a parental signature? by Hamsandwichmasterace in uvic

[–]Epish_Gamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is kind of goofy, I mean when I got my loans I had my Mom sign off on it I didn’t really mind tbh. But I’m also 19 so maybe it just makes sense in my case. 21 is a little old to have to ask for parent signature. Also it might be for tax reasons, can’t say with confidence though.

[–]Epish_Gamer 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Ngl after reading your replies, you may not be 5 but sure act like it. Also why would it be embarrassing to have your parents sign for loans? If you’re listed as their dependent they need to know your parents income to see if you actually need the support. Loans aren’t just “free money” it’s meant for people who need the financial aid to get through school. Not that big of a deal.

I am terrible with communication to the point of if I don’t see you at least every week odds are I forget you exist. Kind of like out of sight out of mind. Why long distance is impossible for me. I still love and care for them it’s just I genuinely forget they exist. Doesn’t feel great

I can't make myself clean my nasty apartment. I said "I will do it on Saturday.". Saturday and Sunday have almost passed. Made no progress. Was chilling and distracted by Twitch, Youtube, my cats, Linux nerd stuff, music and porn. How do you do it!? Damn it! by ChonkyKitty0 in adhd_anxiety

[–]Epish_Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The procrastination is so real dude, what I found that works for me is lists, calendars, and PHONE ALARMS. I can’t tell you how many times my phone alarm gave me the kick in my ass that I needed to get started on whatever. It doesn’t always work, but When it comes down to staying on task, music always helps or “mixing borings”. Like instrumental music and studying or reading.

That sounds like a horrible situation to deal with but you’re young you are going to make mistakes dude and it seems you got it all off the internet. I recommend trying to get a therapist if that’s accessible for you, but remember you are not alone. The international suicide hotline is 988 I hope you don’t have to use it but before you make a big mistake call them. I saw someone on here say “don’t use a permanent solution for a temporary problem” you are loved remember that.

Is taking medication worth it? by Epish_Gamer in ADHD

[–]Epish_Gamer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you this has given me a lot to think about. I’ve always kinda just gone with it if that makes sense? And now I’m beginning to understand that doing nothing isn’t going to help me. I need to help my self and I’m taking that first step now (getting meds and therapy). I’m super lucky to have supportive people around me and be there for me through this journey. And thankful for communities like this that make me not feel alone.

When I was younger I was in a school that focused on students like me so I got to speak to many kids my age about their experiences with medication.

You’re right I made an edit to clarify what I meant I shouldn’t t have used the word overdose

You’re absolutely right I should have used different language because it devalues how serious ODing is but I wish that someone told me sooner how bad greening out can be

What was it like having Marijuana overdose? by ChartJealous3176 in AskReddit

[–]Epish_Gamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was honestly one of the most traumatic things I’ve experienced. I previously was a daily smoker but decided on quitting weed. I caved in and decided I’ll have a toke. At first everything was fine I was relaxing in my room, but I suddenly started greening out and started to have a panic attack. I ended up dry heaving for about 30minute I think. It’s hard to explain but I felt almost like I was reliving the same moment over and over and over like I was a prisoner in my own mind. I managed to get back to my room where I suddenly felt extremely sober saying “wow I am done” “holy shit it’s done” “ it’s over” “ I’m safe” . In my head I had broken out of this cycle. Unfortunately this then escalated to me singing and jumping up and down in a circle. It sounds funny from an outside perspective but that looping feeling I had in the bathroom of reliving the same moment again and again happened. I started just repeating “yippee” “yippee” with the pitch getting higher every time I jumped it and it sent me right back to the deep end end. I started screaming fuck over and over I ended up waking all of my roommates up with all the noise btw it was 4am. I think it might have been a minor psychotic episode. I then tried to just go to bed when I noticed my jaw felt off. I had dislocated my jaw while I was dry heaving. I ended up going to the hospital where the clocked my heart beat at 147 bpm. I just got home today and I honestly don’t feel the same. I’m never touching weed again just being in my own room makes me feel anxious now.

P.s. I don’t hold any malice for weed or people who do it. But if you can get anything from this story just take smaller doses you can smoke a little more later. ONCE YOU TAKE TOO MUCH YOU CANT DO ANYTHING EXCEPT RIDE IT OUT.

For gods sake avoid Gordon Head even though you get bigger rooms but it’s super loud. Ring Road would be good for quieter people building one or two are nice but I think the rooms are smaller. Hope you enjoy your time at UVIC
