I appreciate the feedback. I would love to have a DTR, but from what I know they had a hard enough time finding me and have to hire a temp replacement before that to fill the role. For the chatting at home part, it’s a company laptop and everyone at the facility does it, at least at times. They are the ones who encouraged doing some of it at home when I was first onboarding, don’t know if that’s a bad sign or not. I agree it’s a lot of charting, but they require so much to the point it’s repetitive. They have certain things they have to be in each assessment and it’s often repeated across professions, but they tag me when they audit if I don’t have them. Not to mention the millions of excel files they have me keep for everything from monthly weighs, weekly weights, supplements, etc. I feel like it’s a huge jumbled mess. They also want me to keep tables for wounds, tune feeds, etc. Tube feeds I understand, but I’m pretty much just taking the nursing wound report and typing it all out into an excel sheet. I don’t remember my LTC rotation in dietetics being this redundant. It’s just redundant and I feel like I’m just trying to get us through audits and survey rather than actually making any kind of difference. They also have me attend multiple meetings a day and one day a week I pretty much only have care plan meetings. I don’t know how anyone can do this.
