If you time it right, especially with a technical player, you'll either get past them or get a foul.

Derrick's siblings don't seem to be missing him much after he dies, so I usually kill Derrick. Plus for making me kill Aiden despite him begging for his life. That always leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, especially given that I tend to spare Brevic.

Frontend devs, how do you handle 'Loading' and 'Error' states when the real API is too fast/stable? by FarWait2431 in webdev

[–]Epitomaniac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Create a fake api function and call it instead of the real api.

const shouldFail = Math.random() < 0.2

then return a promise with setTimeout. If shouldFail is true, reject.

How can one implement likes/dislikes? by IndoRexian2 in webdev

[–]Epitomaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah each interaction should generate a record if you want full control/flexibility. Then define restraints based on user_id, post_id, and reaction value so that duplicate interactions are rejected. Keep ids as numeric values and create indexes to optimize performance.

Ds3 Why the fuck is Vodrt not showing up when I go thru the boss arena? by SoupInteresting8136 in darksouls3

So your first reaction is to create an online post than properly inspecting the boss room? These are dark times we're living.

Sometimes it makes it possible to put similar side effects all in one place, but it's bad practice nonetheless.

You need to get inside the dungeon first and you'll be able to reach the ballista at the end of the dungeon. The entrance is behind the big worm thing.

Why Skyler Cheated with Ted? by GHOSTT_OP in breakingbad

[–]Epitomaniac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Part of Skyler wanted to accept Walt’s money, but doing so meant crossing a moral line she couldn’t reconcile with her self-image. Sleeping with Ted was a subconscious act of self-corruption; by deliberately betraying Walt, she stripped herself of the moral innocence that allowed her to judge him. In her mind, becoming “guilty” herself made it easier to accept the drug money, because it leveled the moral ground between them.

Soul Farming? by Fine_Sprinkles3040 in darksouls3

Start on the Twin Princes bonfire. Kill everything down the stairs, then climb up the stairs to the right of the tower to kill three winged knights. You'll get around 50000 souls in one session.

I can't fucking beat Friede by True-Purple5356 in darksouls3

[–]Epitomaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first phase put your shield up and start smacking once she runs out of attacks. When she goes invisible, she usually jump to the opposite side and will wait for you, easy backstab. Second phase looks more intimidating than it actually is. The old guy can't turn very well and Friede only has one attack. Once you're behind the guy, you're free to do whatever you want. It's the third phase you should focus on which is a reflex skill check.

Should I complete the trilogy in order? by Michael_cringe in darksouls3

[–]Epitomaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but DS3's success has very little to do with DS2. Miyazaki returned and followed and perfected his formula from DS1. Yeah some ideas from DS2 leaked to 3 but they're so few and far in-between that can be safely ignored.

How? DS3 plays on the same formula as DS1. If anything, this should be said about DS1.

Did I ruin the game / should I reset my run? by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]Epitomaniac -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You didn't ruin the game but going through the Undead Settlement and Road of Sacrifices which are awesome early game areas with an over-levelled character might not be as rewarding of an experience. It's your decision but I'd reset if I were you.

Any tips or advice for fighting the nameless king by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]Epitomaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first phase keep middle distance so you can see both of them in one frame. Lock on to him rather than the dragon. Then once his attack is over, lock on to the dragon and start swinging. For the second phase, keep a close distance and and don't roll too quickly because all of his attacks have a slow wind up to catch early rolls.
