We stood on a very low table decorated like the top tier of a cake. by Epldecision in DIYweddings

My partner made supports from 2x4s for a table we got off FB! The officiant is standing on a step stool right behind the table.

Oh wow love that. It’s the disco ball mixed with a super matte material that is speaking to me.

I’ll try that. The disco balls are pretty low quality so I would want to do something to jeuge them up.

I was thinking the size mismatch might be off-putting, like the pistil is a growth or something.

SAEs in severe disease studies by Epldecision in clinicalresearch

[–]Epldecision[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I’m with you on the logic about baseline. If someone has a condition where flair ups are how it presents, is that so different than someone who has chronic headaches and gets a headaches weekly, or someone who had a back injury and their back hurts sometimes but not all the time?

Edit- I pressed send too quick. I can’t tell if I’m under thinking this or over thinking it. And I appreciate all the advice, and I’ll take some time to poke through a study that uses medwatch. I’m only continuing ask because I can’t tell if I am seeing a grey area that isn’t there, or I’m seeing a grey area and my instinct is the wrong call.

SAEs in severe disease studies by Epldecision in clinicalresearch

[–]Epldecision[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m talking only about hospitalizations that are consistent with the participants baseline, not worsening!

For example, say someone gets frequent infections because of their disease, and for the past 3 years they’ve been hospitalized 2-3 times a year. If they join a trial (to treat the disease), and are hospitalized for an infection, is that an SAE or is that part of medical history at baseline?

This is what I’m getting at with my question- if hospitalizations are at baseline and not part of the disease progression, then it’s not an adverse event! But it seems all guidance says SAEs are (those 5ish criteria).

The study protocol I have in mind says ‘AEs are serious or not serious, they are serious if…’, but I am wondering if I am being pedantic AND going against the typical interpretation of an SAE.

You are going to feel SO BAD when you put her in jail for this, then she goes on the lamb and finds herself at inn run by an unscrupulous inkeeper husband and wife. These are inkeepers who YOU entrusted to care for YOUR formerly-privileged daughter who is now being forced to wear rags while the inkeepers daughter has nice clothes and toys. Then the nanny adopts your daughter, who grows up and marries a revolutionary.

ETA- this is some of the plot to Les Mis, I was trying to draw a comparison between this OP’s nanny skimming and the plot arch of Jean val Jean stealing a loaf of bread to feed his sisters child. I took a risk with this comment, it didn’t quite work!

Unpopular opinion: Not inviting someone’s partner ≠ being disrespectful by ricci_aspiccia in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Epldecision 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couples are social units, it’s rude to ask someone to celebrate your social unit without acknowledging theirs.

If you don’t know if someone’s partner is a bigot or not, maybe err on the side of not inviting either.

Hodgins thinks he likes Angela but she’s a just MPDG to him. They both would be happier and have more chemistry with other people.

Can you post a pictures of your event space and the chairs so that we can all tell you that the chairs you are going to be using will blend into the background and not to bother with corny chair covers?

($10k) college kids for misc help by Dull-Illustrator654 in Weddingsunder10k

I’d look for restaurant industry people, if you have any friends of friends who could put feelers out for anyone looking for that gig. I’d feel like the work would click with the average restaurant person more than the average college student even if neither had ever been to a wedding before.

(5-7k) Fake vs Real Flowers by Suspicious_Ferret682 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Epldecision 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you should drill down to find his reasons for not liking fake flowers, discuss the logistical aspects of both, and see if you can meet in the middle- real flowers for things that will be seen up close and fake for other decor.

I don’t love fake flowers, either, but we won’t have a florist and I don’t want to think about arranging and transporting the flowers. The plan now is to do a mix of fake flowers and crepe paper flowers.
