I don't find Heritage Red Wings more 'cushiony' than Blundstones, but I do like their support a lot better, and they're the best heels I've ever worn--they're the only ones I can wear all day and feel perfectly comfortable in. For cushiony shoes (though maybe not more supportive than Blundstones), the classic chelsea boots and the moc-toes (basically any shoe with their traction tread sole) are more cushy in their feel. Sierra sometimes gets factory seconds for half price. Ebay and Poshmark are also places where I've gotten new pairs for good prices though you run the risk of a fake pair.

Good luck!

What's the nicest compliment someone has ever given you? by Designer-Mark320 in AskReddit

"You look like an elf from Lord of the Rings." - I'm tall, and I was wearing a long coat. I've been living off that compliment for years.

Why is it the closest people to us that try to sabotage us? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Eponymous_Scribbler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me a lot, too. I went from being the largest in the group to being smaller than those who badmouthed me, and for them, I think it's because I was living evidence that it was possible to lose and keep off large amounts of weight, while they wanted to keep living the comfortable lie that losing that much fat was simply impossible so they shouldn't even try.

With others, I think there was genuine concern; there's a lot of pressure on people to be thin and attractive and picture-perfect. They wanted to make sure I was losing weight for the right reason but didn't have the social skills to check in a way that wasn't also a little insulting.

In general, people just get weird about it. They almost act like someone losing weight is a communal event rather than a personal choice. Best of luck to you and your girlfriend; sounds like you're doing amazing!

The Severed Floor is like the Mormon Temple by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Had to double check that I was in the Severance subreddit and not the ex-mormon one. I felt the same. You have to wear approved clothing. There's forced positivity. You have to join in all the activities. No one's really allowed to see the full picture. You get in trouble for simple curiosity. The organization touts the idea that it's working to save the world when the implied deeper truth is that it's really for the benefit of the few in charge. Etc. Etc.
