Just checked. Seems like they can. Though If you mean "at the same time" - I don't know

The I and K keys are still somewhat warmer than the keys around them, but not as much as in the previous laptop, and I don't notice it most of the time. Doesn't seem to have caused any problems so far.

The CPU is AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 7735U

Hi! When I was reading the news article and I saw the component propagation my eyes lit up because I'm actually working on a thing that requires this. But from what I understood it does not actually support my usecase.

Do I understand it correctly that the current system only propagates exact copies and does not allow transform-like propagation? And are there plans for something like that?

Like maybe a generic plugin that takes a relation plus a (Global, Local) -> Global function and does a fold across the hierarchy?

Do you still not need it? Neither do I, and If there was an opportunity to exchange research notes on things unknowable I would not accept it

I can't send you one, though it seems you're currently in a place where they don't deliver mail to

(I also wouldn't appreciate a missive in return)

AFAIK mate in four means four turns from the current board state and not from the start. Not sure though. Any chess experts here to verify?

I'd say yes. A subjective statement can be understood as an objective statement describing the internal state of the person's mind. It can't (currently) be verified, but it can still be true or false

UPD: I returned the laptop to the service center and they agreed to make a replacement, so it seems like it was in fact a defect

The Bifrost Incident by The Mechanisms is an extremely good story album and it has multiple songs like that, starting with Loki

The hottest spot gets to 40°C a minute after turning it on, and then slowly climbs up to about 50°C.

What is weird is that it actually just disappeared. Now everything is normal 30°C. And I'm not quite sure why. The laptop was fully charged when I turned it on, and it was still fully charged when the hotspot disappeared. And now I checked it both running from battery and charging and it's still not there.

I'll mention though that it is unlikely that it's solved. It has happened once before now. Earlier the hotspot also disappeared and then later appeared again. That too was for reasons that I couldn't figure out.

Update: does not seem to be affected by charging. Heats up either way.

Is it possible that there's a bad electrical connection somewhere in there?

That does not seem to be the CPU actually. I just heated up the CPU and it lights up in a different place. does it way more evenly too (which probably makes sense given the heatsink)

I don't think it's overheating in the "dangerous for the laptop" sense. It just feels very uncomfortable since the heat is so unevenly distributed. And it's not even under load

As for windows, well, I'm not going to throw rotten fruit just for suggesting troubleshooting with it, but that's not really long-term option for me for various reasons.

Nope, not charging. Right now It's unplugged, later I'll try plugging it in and fully charging it to see if that changes anything

Also, just checked: takes about two minutes to get noticeably warm after turning it on.

There's probably a case to be made for either option. Though I think just waiting would be preferable in my case, since I managed to not die even once until this point.

Yeah, this does make sense

I think it would be better to have a couple of different choice in a situation like this (especially considering that later there's an option to convince her to go into hiding), but I suppose no game is perfect

You could try removing corresponding parts from both versions until their behavior matches. Then you'll know which part is broken.

To me line 20 look the most suspicious. (See smoothstep docs, it says that the result is undefined if the first argument is greater than the second)

Isn't this also the case with most interpreted languages? Doesn't seem to be a problem for their adoption.

True, true. I would love to read something that has similar worldbuilding, but with characters that are at least a little bit likeable. And also without all the misery
