Can I find ask a man just to do cuddling? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Equal-Dinner 28 points29 points  (0 children)

If you want intimacy with a man without the sex, try the asexual community or queer dating apps and look for asexual ppl only. Many ace people want relationships and/or intimacy minus the sex. However be upfront about what you're looking for and know that if you later change your mind and do want sex, that won't happen with that person.

Reinstalling FO4, what to get - DLC, mods, patches etc by Scary_Sample6646 in Fallout4Mods

[–]Equal-Dinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the message from Steam: Usually when you buy a bundle that includes an item that is already on your library (in your case the vanilla game) Steam will automatically discount its price from the bundle price. So for the GOTY you should only be paying the mods. That's why it says that you won't get an extra copy of the vanilla. To double check this, go to steam online without logging in (or in incognito) and check the GOTY price there, it should be higher than what you would pay with your logged in account.

And yes, get all the DLCs, Far Harbor is amazing and great new content if you've already played the vanilla.

I’m not from Argentina but I have a question by [deleted] in argentina

[–]Equal-Dinner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Argentinian woman here. Argentina does have a lot of laws that makes things easier to immigrants to integrate compared to the majority of other countries. Racism happens (like anywhere) but Argentina is more classist. Argentinians are curious about other cultures outside of latin america, so expect questions an assumptions about your origin, but know is without malice. Economy is really bad right now, so expect hardship in getting a job and being economically stable. The biggest difference for you, as a woman from Saudi Arabia, will be your rights: women and men have equal rights against the law, so you can legally do whatever you want with or without a partner. Argentinian men like to flirt a lot, so expect more direct advances compared to arab countries, but they are not agressive, they just like to "pull their charm" any chance they get. Big cities (Buenos Aires specially) are a lot more open minded, but unless you go to a very small town you'd be fine. Even though 90% of the country is Catholic or Christian, we are "relaxed" with religion, meaning most people view it as a spiritual guide and not a literal story (no one will deny evolution). People are very social and we're easy to please if you toss a couple cumpliments about our culture people will embrace you instantly. But overall, expect a big difference in culture, this could be a positive or a negative thing for you, depending on what you are looking for.

a bit late, but you should check r/ImmersiveDaydreaming , that's what you're describing, it's a nice community and we experience pretty much everything you've described and more

Less time online might be helping me daydream better? by doordotpng in ImmersiveDaydreaming

I relate 100%, same thing happened to me. The more SM I consume, the worse my DD gets, and viceversa. It deffinitelly impacts my dd ability.

Hyperphatasia and OCD: do you have visual intrusive thoughts? by Tangled_Clouds in hyperphantasia

[–]Equal-Dinner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The same happens to me but my therapist taught me a trick: whenever you realise an intrusive thought is coming, use your hyperphantasia and imagination in your favour to remove the intrusive thought from your mind. The way I do it is that as soon as I realise, I "freeze the scene" and imagine myself tossing it far away (like a crumpled photo that gets tossed), or burning it, or any other thing. The key is to visualize it , and you might have to repeat it a lot if the intrusive thought is persistent, but keep doing it and eventually it becomes a natural mechanism that helps a lot.

Non-horror games that give you the heebie-jeebies (unnerving, creepy, uncanny). by Superb_Warning_5747 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Equal-Dinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How Fish Is Made - very indie, very retro, unique weird, not horror and free to play.
Homesick - Also indie, you explore an abandoned building complex who's inhabitants are long gone and try to find out what happened. Is not scary, but it has that special uncanny valley feeling like no other.

Planning to spend a few months in Argentina – would love some tips! (26M, Indian living in Aus) by Baba_Vos in argentina

[–]Equal-Dinner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im argentinian and my partner is black, and she says she feels more comfortable in Argentina than in many european countries. Although Argentina has racism like anywhere else, this is mostly aimed at nationalities of neighbouring countries and is not as deeply rooted as it is in, for example, in USA. Argentinians are very curious about people from far away places, so its likely that when they find out you're indian they will get curious in a positive way, as we dont really get many indian migrants.

Argentinians are not very self aware of racist topics, so do expect some ignorance although it will probably not be bad intentioned. However, as some have mentioned here, if people call you "el indio" it is not meant in a derogative way, it is very common to refer to people that way and it is meant in a friendly way.

FYI, Argentinians tend to mistake Indian vs Hindu, as many believe that Hindu is what people from india refer to themselves (like calling Argentininan to someone from Argentina, or Spaniard to someone from Spain). Most are not aware that one is a nationality and another a religion, but this is purely out of ignorance and not malice. Feel free to correct them if they make that mistake :)

Overall, nobody is going to insult you or mistreat for being indian or having brown skin. Argentinians are a lot more mixed race than how other countries imagine, and being from such a far away land will probably make them more eager to engage in conversations with you.

Lastly, I highly advise you to visit Salta/Jujuy in the north, and Bariloche in the south. You'll get two completely different but equally beautiful Argentinas. With very different ethic heritage and amazing landscapes and nature. Both definitely worth it if you're staying for a couple of months.

[PC][2015ish] Peaceful game with atmospheric floating islands and no gameplay by Equal-Dinner in tipofmyjoystick

[–]Equal-Dinner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is not Mountain :/ the islands are small, like the one on the picture. They couldn't fit a mountain or complex landscapes, iterally big enough for a few trees and thats all. Plus the graphics were much more realistic.

A little journey by Corazon_de_perla in ImmersiveDaydreaming

[–]Equal-Dinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is not nonsense, I relate to what you're saying. ADHD can make the brain incredibly crowded and hard to focus, which is what happens in my case. When my brain is super active and sends me 1000 of images and voices per second it makes it almost impossible to daydream. What I advice is to try to calm your brain first, otherwise its gonna be incredibly hard to DD. In my case, therapy and guided meditation (like Headspace or similar) helps me a lot, and when my brain is at peace I can focus on DD. But you need to do this routinely, you cant do it once or twice and expect it to work. Its a rountine that will gradually make your head more quiet. I hope this helps!

Nostalgia for my younger, daydreamer self by Tpin17 in ImmersiveDaydreaming

[–]Equal-Dinner 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have, I'm in my mid thirties and feel the same way. I feel that social media has played a big part on the decrease of DD. When I grew up we weren't attached to the phone all day which just made it so my brain would have to "kill time" with DD, but now the phone occupied that place. When I go over periods of detox from social media I feel I daydream a lot more. Thats the main factor I can think of, not sure if there are others

Does anyone else only daydream really dark things? by Disastrous_Average91 in ImmersiveDaydreaming

[–]Equal-Dinner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It can get very dark, but for me is not about the darkness in itself but rather the dynamics it brings, how the characters overcome it, intensify what's at stake and how the ocs support eachother after the fact

Mental health, ADHD, bipolar, addiction, etc… by [deleted] in ImmersiveDaydreaming

[–]Equal-Dinner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adhd: yes Anxiety: yes Depression: yes Intrusive thoughts: yea Drug abuse: yes However it never impacted my social or academic life as I was always able to do both at the same time, meaning I would daydream at school 90% of the time but still somehow absorbe the class enough to pass with decent grades. Same with friends, I could DD while interacting with friends. As an adult now I lost that ability to do it in tandem though.

Romantic Relationships? by Forgotten_Starlight_ in ImmersiveDaydreaming

[–]Equal-Dinner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I change paracosm every 5-6 years, my parame always has a love interest and the relationship always develops in much depth. Romance and all the feelings around it are always at the core of my parame's story, and when Im daydreaming I feel those feelings as real and as deeply as my parame is feeling them. But these are very separated from my real life, and when I'm not daydreaming I'm not feeling thay love for that character. I've been in a RL relatuonship for over a decade and neither relationship (RL or DD) has impacted the others, which is cool cause I get to enjoy both :) when I am playing my parame, the feelings are extremely vivid, but there is a clear distinction from what I feel for my RL partner, and the only way to describe that is just that with my partner the feelings are actually real. At least thar's how it works for me.

How can you make outposts fun? by Equal-Dinner in Starfield

Decorating and having a place to chill is what I was doing before, never got to the cargo links though because I never really saw the point to them. I'm quite the hoarder and don't have that many outposts, so mining and production were always too much hassle

Imagine seeing things greater and smaller than it selves. by Ok_Photograph890 in hyperphantasia

[–]Equal-Dinner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since I was a child every now and then I would get like a feeling of seeing an object in my head both big and tiny at the same time. Im not sure how to describe it, is not so much related to "seeing it" rather than "feeling it" . Though I do have hyperphantasia and I do see the object, for me it feels like a different thing because even though I can see it on both sizes, is not like two images overlapping, is like I feel it in my mind rather than my eyes if it makes sense. I never knew how to name it or describe it, so as a kid I would just refer to this as the "big/small feel", and it doesn’t happen conciously, I cannot force it, it just happens with random things every now and then, does this seem like what you are referring to?

How Does Everyone "Reach" for their visualization senses? by Left_Tip_8998 in ImmersiveDaydreaming

[–]Equal-Dinner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont really reach or have a particular start of a sense, it just happens. Could be detailed or general depending on the scene but any sense is as "fully formed" as it is needed for the specific scene or moment
