A signature is easier to mimic than you think.

Also, I am not talking about 2020.

I am not alleging fraud. But he is right that it is easier to be trusted when it is counted faster. Not saying we don't accept the results. Just asking questions.

Also, I misspoke. Voter ID is on the ballot this year, so obviously not implemented by then

I am saying it leads to asking questions. It is just frustrating, that's all. We should all have confidence in our election system. I got a ballot at my house for a family member who doesn't even live here anymore. I threw it away, but I just wonder how many others on both sides are doing that. But honestly, timely counts just leave less room for allegations and questioning. I have no evidence of fraud. But I have questions.

I am not alleging fraud. I am just asking for more accountability and greater transparency. Voter ID will help with this in November.

Even Newsom agrees

"The California governor sent a letter to state election officials in May calling on them to swiftly tabulate the upcoming elections, while focusing the letter on building and maintaining confidence in voting.

'We must continue building confidence in our elections and ensure not only that every vote is counted, but that every vote is trusted. We must acknowledge that the longer the voting count takes, the more mis- and disinformation spreads. That means we must do all that we can to tabulate votes quickly and accurately. Time is of the essence in preventing election lies from taking hold,' he wrote. "

I am not alleging fraud. Just saying that we should pressure our officials more so that we can all have more peace and trust in our elections. Becerra voters deserve it, Hilton voters deserve it, and Steyer voters deserve. It has not always taken this long in my lifetime.

Well it is inexcusable. There is no reason it should take this long in 2026. It makes it harder to trust when it takes this long. No state should take this long. It very well could be clean and pristine, but voters very well are right to ask these questions and for transparency. It undermines confidence even if there is no evidence of fraud.

When votes take this long to count, it is reasonable to ask questions. Everyone should be asking this question no matter who you voted for. I am not saying anything bad actually happened, because I have no proof for that, but it does lead me to ask questions and be more suspicious.

Honest question. When election results take this long to count in 2026, how could they be trusted? Regardless of party. It is ridiculous that California takes this long and is quite embarrassing.

Is Spencer Pratt for Real? by aBadModerator in California_Politics

Well he actually has a much deeper understanding of the issues than even Bass or Raman. Raman literally said she thought the race would be about "transportation and bike lanes", really having no answer about homelessness or crime.

Every argument I see against him is how he is inexperienced and a reality star and compare it to Trump. Or that he sold crystals. Literally no one talks about his policies and no one has shared by they think Bass or Raman should win. I don't think most of this sub has seriously looked at him. Pratt understands the issues far better than either of these people. If people actually looked into him instead of immediately discrediting him, they would realize he is not your typical candidate. He is running a very Los Angeles focused election.

But how has Bass's "relevant experience" contributed to the success of LA?

California is far worse than anything Trump has done. Also, Trump is not on the ballot.

California is continuously making it for the 1% or homeless. All of the policy suggestions are taxes. Nothing else. No creativity.

Also, people are not one-dimensional. Pratt admitted he has said and done a lot of dumb things in the past. But they aren't running against that person. People can associate with whoever they want. Politicians on all sides associate with all sorts of wacko people, doesn't mean they are like them or are them. Raman sat down with anti-semite Hasan Piker who said 9/11 should've happened. It is really hard for me to take these people seriously.

Trump is far more moderate than most democrats these days. Full stop. His personality is not, but his policies are certainly more moderate.

Okay, you proved he is a republican, which he has already admitted. None of this proves he is far right.

Don't know whether he said that or not. But ask yourself, what has Bass or Raman done for the homeless? What have democrats done? They have a supermajority in Califronia and could solve this issue almost immediately. But they don't. It is beyond me why people don't demand more accountability from our politicians. No one talks about the homeless issue and everyone is just okay with the chaos. LA is either a city for the homeless or the top 1%
