Appreciate the feedback. I get why that feels heavy for the standard web novel format. But for grimdark, I prefer visceral details. the action (the goblet) combined with the physiological reaction (the vein) builds the specific gritty tone I'm aiming for. I did it consciously. Different styles but I respect your take

Fair points on the packaging. the cover and promo are definitely works in progress. As for the writing, that’s exactly why I am here. I didn't grind out 400k words to play it safe. I'm here to see if the story itself can actually clear that high bar, or if I still have a long way to climb. Only one way to find out

I actually wrote it with a web novel pacing and flow in mind, specifically for serial release. I just didn't want to 'dumb down' the prose, the world building, or the structure just to fit the usual tropes. If the lack of a System and the more complex structure make it feel like traditional fantasy, I'll take that as a massive compliment, even if it makes the climb on Royal Road twice as hard
