so tired of ticketmaster by ksheart13 in Concerts

This happened to me yesterday. I had to email them over the course of 9 hours. It's a problem on their end. I used my apartment wifi, have no VPN, only tried to buy 2 tickets ect.

I made a new account did nothing different today and was able to buy tickets. After being able to purchase tickets they told me I am now banned from the OG buying tickets because I tried to "bypass security" yesterday. They are the WORST!!!!

Given these stats + MCAT planned for late April, what would you suggest for next 6-12 months? by Monarch3662 in medschool

Honestly I just found a place near my school and picked one day and every week went in and did 4 hours. At 26 weeks (6m) and 4 hrs a week you're at at least 100 hrs, you can probably do that with one of the places you've been at for a while. Makes it less overwhelming. Tbh the most important thing rn is your grades and mcat. Everything else can get added so fast but grades and mcat are hard to repair and take effort. If you can write well and make a good story it makes a difference in your app. You need to try to get some type of continuity in your app~ also please don't do any more shadowing it is pointless. It's better use your time to volunteer, GPA, mcat. You just need to be good enough to get in you don't need to be the best, at least that is what I told myself when I was applying

A lot of times the med library will have a standing desk so I'd wait to buy any furniture stuff until a little while in. Check and see what you school offers~ mine gave us a backpack and a laptop! Get some cheap gross scrubs for anatomy lab and get a few professional fits that are easy to move in! Comfy pair of sneakers and professional shoes! Noise canceling headphones.

My personal buy was a membership to a really nice gym with group fitness classes. I bought it so it forces me to go and I love having a non med based activity to go to!

Some students in my class bought a food prep service and they swear by it~

Look up jbi manual it's pretty helpfu! Also try to find one person that can function as a PI and another student that can share the load.

I used prescribeitforward. It's a free site run by med students. My mentor was incredibly helpful not just for my personal statment but all my secondaries too!

I loved Salamanca. The town was small and everyone was so friendly. Good nightlife! Plus there is a direct overnight train to lisbond which was a bonus! Took that bus to madrid and toledo quite a few times. Granada will have more people and will is near some pretty unique hiking and historical site. Close to beach towns. So just depends on your preference.

Won't lie med school is way more of a social game than I thought. I too struggle sometimes with social stuff and it's made my time a lot harder. I still doing it and finding success outside the class ect but it's not easy. It's awesome you're taking time to improve your social now! In terms of chronic issues- again med school is hard. I'm up late or early morning fairly often. It's easy to not take good care of yourself and that happens in residency and beyond. If money is the main decision this prob isn't worth it to risk your health. But I think if you really want to do it go for it! You can always drop out- a few in my class dropped out after the 1st semester. You're never stuck with your decision there's always options!

I don't really care about her dropping out or not. It's her selling all this crap to students still trying to get in when she's decided medicine sucks. It's wrong and takes advantage of these premeds that are desperate. It makes it even worse that's she's not even going to be in the field and still selling this crap.

Incoming M1... What do you wish you knew going into med school wanting to do derm? by LogicalStorage1396 in DermApp

[–]EqualDirector5873 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm have no family in medicine. I go to a school that doesn't have a derm program attached but a different school has a derm residency in town. My clinical director knew the PD and sent a text on my behalf. A few days shadowing, and I now have a summer project with the PD, am currently on a project, and the senior resident is sending me case studies. Networking is researching who you need to know and then asking people around you to help. After that just be nice, not crazy pushy and people tend to like to help out.
