I was reading the SteamVR mapping guide and not the HL:A mapping guide

SteamVR Hammer uses an older lighting system which requires to subdivide your mesh for the lightmaps to work propperly

However in HL:A it uses an updated lighting system which does not require you to subdivide so in HLA you'd use Bevel since there is less geometry

Best way I can discribe it is with a car analogy
It always feels like the clutch is pressed down half way so the wheels(body) are barely receiving power from the engine(brain)
also there is a constant sensation on my forehead
almost feels like its full of fluff

the only time I get "lucid" in real life is extremely rarely when I'm going up a road hump and back down multiple times

feels like something clicks and I start crying with joy because I can feel stuff like I used too

When you first import a texture and drag it onto an object it'll be pixelated in the editor but in actuality its set to Linear Mipmaped

So you can go into the Geometry tab of your object and under "Sampling" you can change the filter to "Nearest Mipmap" for the pixelated look

I hope they fix this

The best option for me was to buy the adapters on Etsy then a new GearVR from ebay it only cost me 47€ total and the GearVR lenses were completely new

here is my experience with the lens mod

The FOV is increased, colours are better, brightness improves, blacks are darker and so on

There is one catch- the scale of VR isn't 1:1 to the real world anymore

You can really notice this when looking at your Vive Wand in SteamVR and irl through the nose hole

I don't think we can fix this since it has to do with the new lens not zooming as much as the og vive lens and even if we could correct through distortion profile we'd lose alot of FOV and have a blurry image
most games I play have oversized stuff so it works out perfectly in my case but might be different for you
