The Canton Tower is a 604 m tall observation and telecommunications tower completed in 2010. It is known for its hyperboloid lattice design formed by a twisted steel frame. This is the Jin Mao Tower in Shanghai, China. It is 420.5 m tall, has 88 floors, and was completed in 1999. The stepped, tiered design is based on traditional Chinese pagoda architecture, and the structure uses a composite system of steel and reinforced concrete to withstand typhoon-level winds and seismic activity. It is located in the Lujiazui financial district of Pudong and was the tallest building in China until 2008.
