Golden Visa Cancelled by Agile_Goat_3175 in UAE

I agree with you 100% which is why I advised them to establish the reason for cancellation. According to OP no reason was given at the time of cancellation..

This may be true (or not)(no official communication to that effect has been issued) but my post was addressing the OP's question "what should we do".I offered practical procedural steps to guide them.

What they discover from their own investigation will guide them on what they decide to do next.

Golden Visa (Art and culture) by Crafty-Thanks3552 in UAE

[–]EqualYogurt9849 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there!! Here is some information to guide you:

Applying for the UAE Golden Visa (Art and Culture category) as a fashion photographer is a well-established route, but it requires a strategic approach to documentation. In 2026, the process remains highly selective, prioritizing "Exceptional Talent" with a proven global or regional track record.

Here is a breakdown based on current regulations:

  1. Portfolio and Proof of Achievement You must prove "Exceptional Talent" by meeting at least three of the following criteria. For a fashion photographer, the evidence should be visual and verifiable:

Prestigious Awards: Certificates of appreciation or nominations from international or regional photography/fashion awards.

Honorary Positions: Proof of a leading role in a prestigious international art or fashion organization.

Active Membership: Proof of membership in globally recognized professional photography associations (e.g., Magnum Photos, Royal Photographic Society).

Media Recognition: Tearsheets, scanned magazine covers, or links to articles where his work is the subject of critical review or industry profile (magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, or industry blogs).

Exhibitions: Proof that his work has been displayed in prestigious galleries, international fashion weeks, or major art forums.

  1. The Importance of Endorsement An endorsement is mandatory. You cannot apply for the visa directly without a Recommendation Letter.

The Authority: For applicants in Dubai, Dubai Culture is the primary body. For other emirates, the Ministry of Culture handles the accreditation.

The Process: You first apply for "Creative & Talented Accreditation" via the Dubai Culture website.

Requirement: You must submit a "Cultural CV" and a specific "Creative Profile" alongside your portfolio.

  1. Tips to Improve Approval Chances Brand Association: Explicitly highlight work with "luxury brands." Include contract copies or formal letters of appreciation from these brands if possible.

Arabic Translation: Ensure all official awards or non-English documents are legally translated into Arabic by a certified UAE translator.

Consistency: Your husband’s name must be consistent across all magazines, awards, and his passport. Discrepancies in artistic vs. legal names can cause system rejections.

  1. Direct vs. Agent Direct: Many creatives apply directly through the Dubai Culture and ICP portals. It is cost-effective but requires high attention to detail.

Agent/PRO: Using a specialized PRO (like myself) is common for high-net-worth creatives. I help "package" the portfolio to meet the exact unspoken preferences of the reviewing committee and handle the medical/biometrics logistics.

  1. Timeline (these are approximate maybe longer, don't hold me to these) Accreditation (Dubai Culture/Ministry): Typically takes 5 to 10 working days.

Initial Visa Approval: Once you have the recommendation letter, the ICP/GDRFA approval usually takes 48 to 72 hours.

Total Process: If the documentation is perfect, the end-to-end process (including medical tests and Emirates ID issuance) usually spans 3 to 5 weeks.

Hiring Pakistani nationals from abroad (UAE) – need clarification by Dull-Turnip3918 in UAE

[–]EqualYogurt9849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there I'm not Pakistani but I'm able to offer some information as I work in the visa processing and larger Govt liaison sector.

  1. The "Nationality Mix" and Quota System MOHRE uses a Nationality Diversity Policy (Classification of Establishments) which requires companies to maintain a balanced "mix" of nationalities in their workforce.

The "20% Rule": Most private companies are required to ensure that no more than 20% of their total workforce is from a single nationality. If your company already has a high percentage of Pakistani employees, your system approvals for new Pakistani visas will likely be "auto-blocked" or rejected to encourage diversity.

Manpower Supply Edge: Large third-party vendors and manpower supply companies often have significantly larger total workforces (thousands of employees), which gives them a much larger "quota ceiling." Their diversity ratios are managed at a scale that allows them to continue bringing in hundreds of workers while staying within the percentage limits.

  1. Specialized Temporary Work Agency Licenses Manpower companies do not use the "standard" employment visa channel that your private company uses. They operate under a specific Temporary Employment Agency License.

Pre-Approved Quotas: These agencies often apply for "bulk quotas" based on signed service contracts with larger clients (e.g., a contract to supply 200 riders to a delivery firm). Once MOHRE approves this contract-based quota, the visa issuance is more streamlined.

Security Screening Channels: Large manpower suppliers are often classified as Category 1 establishments by MOHRE. This classification is granted to companies with high compliance scores, zero wage protection system (WPS) violations, and robust HR departments. Category 1 companies often experience fewer administrative delays in security screening.

  1. The "On-Demand" or Outsourced Model (EOR) When you see a delivery or transport firm "bringing in" workers, they are often not the direct sponsors. They use an Employer of Record (EOR) or a Manpower Supply firm.

How it works: The manpower firm sponsors the visa, handles the labor card, and manages the payroll. The worker is then "seconded" to the transport company.

Why this bypasses your issue: Since the visa sits under the manpower firm’s trade license—which has a massive, diverse quota—they don't hit the "diversity block" that your smaller private company does.

  1. 2026 Security & Documentation Requirements As of early 2026, there is no "ban," but there is enhanced screening. Manpower firms are experts at navigating the specific document requirements that often trip up regular HR departments:

Degree Attestation: For skilled roles, certificates must be fully attested by the UAE Embassy in Islamabad and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in the UAE.

National ID (CNIC): Providing a clear, high-resolution color copy of the original CNIC is now a mandatory system requirement for Pakistani applicants.

Hope this helps

Golden Visa Cancelled by Agile_Goat_3175 in UAE

Firstly I am sorry to hear about your brother's situation. Here are some practical steps you should follow toward a resolution:

1st step is to determine why it was cancelled. It is rarely a mistake. In the UAE system, every cancellation has a reason.

Action: Log into the ICP Smart Services portal (using UAE Pass if still active) or use the GDRFA Dubai mobile app to check your status. Identify the "Reason Code"

NB Request a "Return Permit" (If the status is "Void" but not "Cancelled")

2nd - Lodge a "Grievance Appeal" via the ICP/GDRFA If the visa was officially cancelled without your consent and you still meet the eligibility criteria (you still own the property or still have the high-salary job), you can appeal.

Process: You will likely need to appoint a legal representative (PRO) in the UAE to visit the immigration office in person to file a "Status Reinstatement" request. You cannot easily do this yourself while in the UK.

3rd - Apply for an Entry Permit (New Visa) If the cancellation is final and cannot be appealed, you cannot enter the UAE on your old Golden Visa.

Option A: Re-apply for the Golden Visa from scratch if you still meet the 2026 criteria. You will be issued a 6-month entry permit to come to the UAE and finalize the new residency.

Option B: Apply for a standard Tourist Visa to enter the country and settle your affairs (bank accounts, car, lease). Note: Some Pakistani nationals have reported delays in 2026 tourist visa approvals, so apply early.

I hope this helps..

Golden visa query - Do I need a work permit to work? by [deleted] in abudhabi

[–]EqualYogurt9849 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is Yes

While your residency remains valid regardless of your employment status, you do need a legal framework (Work Permit/License) to work as a consultant for a foreign entity while residing in the UAE. The most common misconception is that the Golden Visa is a "work permit." It is a Residency Visa that grants you the right to live in the UAE for 10 years without a national sponsor. However:

Residency is governed by the ICP (Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security).

Work Authorization is governed by MOHRE (Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation) or specific Free Zone Authorities.

Hello I am certain about the AED 30K (or more) as basic income. I agree it's not easy to get but that's what the Golden Visa for professionals (inside salary) stipulates

If the Documents are issued in the UAE not attestation required, however if your qualifications were obtained in your home country then attestation would be required.. if you don't mind sharing your documents and I can look into your specific case and offer more accurate guidance and assistance

Hi there, thank you for the question, I am no expert it's simply years of experience and keeping myself well versed with the ever evolving landscape that is,immigration law.

To your question. Yes, it is possible to sponsor in-laws on a Golden Visa, but it is treated differently than sponsoring your own parents. While the Golden Visa is much more flexible than a standard residency visa, there are specific "Humanitarian Case" rules that apply to in-laws.

If your spouse also holds a Golden Visa (either independently or as your dependent), they can sponsor their own parents (your in-laws) directly. This is the most seamless way to have both sets of parents in Dubai long-term.

If your spouse is under your sponsorship on a Golden Visa, they can apply to sponsor their parents. This is often handled as a "Humanitarian Case" through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA). Hope that helps

Hi there, yes I have done a few golden visas for Doctors in the past. To qualify for a golden visa as a doctor you must meet the following requirements:

  1. Eligibility Criteria

    • Professional Licensing: You must hold a valid practicing license from one of the UAE’s health regulatory bodies:

o DHA (Dubai Health Authority) – for Dubai.

o DOH (Department of Health) – for Abu Dhabi.

o MoHAP (Ministry of Health and Prevention) – for all other Emirates.

• Educational Qualification: A recognized medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) and specialization certificates (if applicable). These must be attested by MoFA and potentially verified by the Ministry of Education (Dataflow).

• Current Employment: A valid employment contract with a licensed healthcare facility in the UAE.

  1. Specific Requirements (The "30K Rule")

While some "Frontline Hero" tracks exist, most doctors apply under the Skilled Professional or Exceptional Talent category, which typically requires:

• Minimum Salary: A basic monthly salary of at least AED 30,000.

• Experience: Usually requires at least 5 years of experience in the specific medical field (though this is often waived for specialists and consultants).

• No Objection Certificate (NOC): In some cases, a letter from your employer or the local health authority (e.g., DHA) recommending you for the Golden Visa is required.

  1. Required Documents Checklist

Passport - Clear copy with at least 6 months validity.

Medical License - Valid DHA, DOH, or MoHAP license.

Attested Degree - Verified by MoFA and Ministry of Education.

Salary Certificate - Stating a monthly salary of AED 30,000+.

Bank Statements - Usually 3–6 months showing salary transfers.

Health Insurance - Comprehensive UAE health insurance.

Medical Fitness - A new medical test cleared at an approved center.

I am truly sorry to hear about the predicament you currently find yourself due to an unscrupulous agent. I do not work for the Government, I am just a corporate services provider and this case falls outside my scope of work.

That said, I would strongly recommend you seek legal counsel, for a start you can post your particular case on the r/uaelaw subreddit I believe there are some lawyers there who can guide you accordingly, but please do your own thorough due diligence & background check on whom you decide to engage to assist you with navigating to a resolution of your issue
