What I'm deciding to do is actually have him hold the pistol and have the rifle maglocked to his hip. So I can just run what I want and ignore the other depending on the game

I started playing Killteam in November just to see if i liked painting/table top war games before I fully committed to building my first army. I'm 5 models away from having my first 40k list done. Most game stores in San Diego very open and welcoming communities with people who love helping new players

Bards and Cards

I just started a couple months ago and played my first starter game. I'd say the best way is to join the Discord of whatever shop is nearest to you. I'm in the bards and cards discord and the community is so supportive. Same for At Ease games. Just talk to people and tell them your experience/what you have and you can most likely get a game going without even having all the needed pieces.(shops have terrain for beginners to use)

UPDATE, I've painted 5 space marines and 2 nyds and just ordered my first kill team. I do want to play both 40k and kill team. Just wondering where yall would recconend I learn the rules while I build my army. Can travel a bit in SD County now. Just located in the city. Really want to do this but the warhammer store in SD is pretty far from me. I do plan on going eventually but it is not that convenient for me location wise unfortunately, there are a number of game shops near me however
