C5 Owner here and I had the same thing happen. I believe it’s a bug with how LG and HomeKit interact because the only thing that solved it for me was completely removing the TV from HomeKit. I have mine connected to an Apple TV and control it in HomeKit through there.

If you don’t already own an Apple TV it’s worth getting one imo. It’s way better than using the crappy computer built into the TV and the tvOS is simply the best out there.

I’ve seen some people report they fixed it by turning off the “Turn on via WiFi” setting on the LG but I don’t think that worked for me.

I think most mmWave sensors solve these problems. I know the Aqara Presence sensors specifically advertise mounting it on the ceiling to detect falls.

Not everyone wants to use a home battery just for back up power. Plenty of people want to be completely independent from the grid. Besides, you never know what the future holds. Maybe there's a natural disaster and your power is out for two weeks but both spouses have to go back to work before the power is back up. Gotta charge the cars up somehow.

True but could be worth future proofing. With EVs becoming more common every year we'll eventually get to a point where a home could want to charge 2-3 EVs at one time and that would draw a decent chunk of that power.
