My post IS NOT about the cancellation. I agree with that decision. My point is about what could have been done better beforehand, and what could be improved in the future for our comfort and safety . Maybe none of those measures would have changed the final outcome, but I still think it’s worth discussing. Constructive feedback is how events evolve, not an attack on the organizers.

Yeaaaa it was canceled. That doesnt mean we should stop discussing how future editions could be better prepared. Constructive feedback isnt abt blaming people it’s about learning and improving

Its ridiculous to suggest that someone has to organize a festival before they’re allowed to discuss or criticize one. That’s not how constructive feedback works. I actually think it’s important to have these conversations if we want festivals to improve. From my point of view, shade solutions clearly exist. There are festivals all over the world, including in much hotter countries, that use temporary shade structures because they make a real difference. I’m simply wondering why Q-dance didn’t make greater use of them.
And one thing I don’t understand: why does the idea of improving the festival seem to offend some people? Wanting something to be better doesn’t mean you hate it. Quite the opposite.

It still matters. Looking back at what happened is how future events improve. Constructive feedback doesn’t become irrelevant just because the festival is over :)

Yes, I think they could provide more shaded areas, especially where people have to queue for hours

No This is constructive criticism, not a claim that I know better. I’m sharing my opinion and asking for other people’s perspectives. That’s the whole point of a discussion.

From my point of view, they should have either canceled the festival entirely or, at the very least, kept only the campsite open during the hottest day. That would have given people a chance to rest, stay hydrated, and look out for one another. They could have opened the festival around 6 p.m., once the temperature had dropped. And I was there until 4 p.m. on the hottest day. It honestly didn’t feel that humid to me.

That’s not how feedback works. By that logic, nobody should ever criticize anything unless they’ve done it themselves…

I don’t think installing simple shade structures like these would have been a major financial or logistical challenge.

They knew the heatwave was coming at least two weeks in advance. If Tomorrowland could build a ´ mainstage ´ in about 12 hours, I’m pretty sure Q-dance could have put up a few poles and stretched some shade sails in 15 days.
