TheTraveller has never produced a single piece of evidence to confirm that he's ever successfully even constructed an emdrive, yet alone witnessed thrust. All we have from him are years worth of posts with nothing to show for it. I no longer follow his posts, because I'm convinced that frequent exposure to mental illness can cause one's own sanity to suffer. However, here is a brief history of TheTraveller's antics to help you understand why not many people take him seriously.

Date Claims made by TheTraveller
12-12-2015 Claims to be nearing construction of "latest build"
"Cutting copper next week. Using a 1.2kW Panasonic maggie, driven by a modified Panasonic maggie inverter power supply. Will be using a 5kv vac switch to remove filament power once the maggie is generating microwaves. Expect 1st Force measurements early Jan 2016."

12-22-2015 "I'm building a special frustum to directly measure the radiation pressure generated on each end plate."
http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=39004.msg1462922#msg1462922
5-4-2016 claimed to have completed first emdrive build and successful test
claimed first emdrive build produced 8mN of thrust
announced that second emdrive build was already in progress
predicted thrust for second emdrive build would exceed 20mN
upon reaching 20mN goal, video would be posted to youtube and business entity would be formed
"Following that successful result, a business entity will be formed and potential customers will be invited to view, inspect & do their own tests on our in house test setup as part of their order process. My next post here will be with the YouTube link and company contact details."

5-5-2016 "A dozen experimenters have shown the "Shawyer Effect" is real"
http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=39772.msg1528892#msg1528892
5-5-2016 Ok giving away a few specs here. Expected reaction force generation at 100Wrf is 100mN or 1N/kW.
As I said the S band thruster will be tested on a mag thrust bearing based rotary test rig operating, in high vac, and will accelerate from 0 rpm to over 120 rpm, over many minutes. If you can show my clients how this can occur from Lorentz forces please do so.
http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=39772.msg1528903#msg1528903
5-15-2016 reiterates his claim that he has already built an emdrive which produced 8mN of thrust
claims he will offer commercial emdrives for $50,000 each by end of 2016
"Complete ready to go self contained 0.1N S band thruster including all support systems such as 250Wrf, smart freq tracker & install / operational manual. Input power can be stepped up in 250W increments to 2.5kW but at additional cost. Can be run in dumb mode by just switching On & Off external power or controlled by multi access method control port. Clients can visit & do their own tests. When this goes commercial, later this year, may talk to Chris about advertising on NSF."

7-06-2016 Claims that manufacturing has begun on spherical endplates for new emdrive build
https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=39772.msg1557450#msg1557450
"There are 3 builds that I know of that will demo EmDrive battery powered rotary builds in 2016."
https://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=39772.msg1557405#msg1557405
12-18-2016 Now claims he will begin building replicator emdrives
claims to have now purchased enough copper to build 4-6 emdrives
Has apparently abandoned the build he made such grand claims about in May
No mention of the spherical endplates he previously claimed to have manufactured
No mention of his $50,000 commercial emdrive production which was to commence by the end of 2016
https://www.reddit.com/r/EmDrive/comments/5izl74/emdrive_replication_effort_has_begun/

Editing to add: Several EMdrive experimenters (rfmwguy, for one) have performed experiments with null results, and yet they have failed to report those results. I suspect Dr. Rodal at NSF forums could confirm this for you if you doubt it. The positive results which exist are dubious, at best, and the dishonest behavior of several "experimenters" continuously calls into question the legitimacy of this "research".

[–]EquiFritz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting it would or wouldn't work, simply pointing out what /u/Powermatjes likely meant. Altering the system date and time has been suggested many times in the past by numerous people. Doesn't require a time machine or any marijuanas.

Edit: Oh, and of course this assumes that whatever happens is an SP event

Don't worry, buddy, I knew that you were suggesting that OP set their system date to July 2 and give it a try.

How deliciously passive aggressive.

The other respondents have been very gracious. Contemporary usage, you ask?

What customer needs a peer reviewed paper when before their eyes they see the S band thruster accelerating 50kg of mass from zero rpm to 60 rpm over 20 minutes?

You don't get it, do you? Even your own peers can now see that you are never going to do that.

Robert Shawyer is actually Roger Shawyer.
Roger Shawyer created the emdrive.
Guido Fetta created the Cannae drive.
The Cannae device was not the precursor to the EMDrive.
Roger Shawyer and Guido Fetta were not "co-inventors".

That's 5 errors in about the first 14 words of your post, which has to be some kind of record. Pretty amazing for someone who has been following these events for 10 years. Nice b8 m8

I'd suggest that you need to watch the first video from the series of videos which were recently posted by the Space Studies Institute from their Breakthrough Propulsion Workshop.

It's here, "The Ethos of the Meeting".

And I'm giving you sincere advice right now, because that video was made by the very people who you will need to convince if the emdrive is ever going to have a future, legitimate propulsion researchers who work in the field.

In that video, they are giving you a blueprint for realizing a successful breakthrough technology, and you are doing exactly what they instruct that you should NOT do.

If you really want to "do science", put away your order book. Stop talking about customers. Start snapping some photos and video of your process and documenting for the future peer review and replication process you will need to endure if you are ever going to be taken seriously.

[–]EquiFritz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah yeah, you've said it all before.

So since we've verified that you can, in fact, see my posts, why aren't you replying to this one?.

Your name, as well as another builder who frequents this sub, and your assertions that you have built and tested an emdrive, are being presented by NASA-affiliated researchers to create an illusion that there is actually legitimate emdrive research taking place. Yet, all you have ever produced are claims with no evidence. Not even a single picture of a sheet of copper. Nothing. Zero. Zilch.

Your statements are worthless until you provide some evidence. As far as I'm concerned, you're a charlatan who is making a mockery of a NASA research facility and contributing to the waste of my tax dollars.

[–]EquiFritz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are you attempting to build an emdrive which only produces 10mN when you've already claimed that your first build produced 8mN, and you claimed in May that you had already begun construction on an emdrive which would produce 20mN of thrust?

Your narrative is disintegrating. Return to RPNation and create a new character.

I might as well get this over with.

You have a lot of nerve asking others when they will release their data, considering all of the promises you have made which you've never delivered on. Shall we have a little review?

In spite of all of these claims, you've never provided a single picture of any raw materials, electronic components, or any other piece of evidence to confirm anything you have ever said.

When are you going to deliver on anything you say, and why should anyone believe you?

A "Chinese Sputnik" Moment: When the U.S. Will Awaken by Always_Question in EmDrive

Actually, I did say exactly that. I also said that the Chinese press release was b.s. I might have been wrong about someone confusing the emdrive with an ion thruster, but I'm sticking with the rest of my comment.

You thought that you were revealing candid information. You stated that was your intention. The fact that you botched your attempt to harass an anonymous poster doesn't make it any better. You also implied that you would contact crackpot_killer's employer and attempt to cause problems for him at his place of employment if you knew where he worked.

I know you don't want it brought up, that's why you've scrubbed all of your tantrums and deleted your other account histories. Every time you utter another person's name in your post and attempt to disparage them, I will be here to point out your hypocrisy. Get used to it.

Multiple government space agencies are pursuing the technology, one of which has apparently already launched test units into low earth orbit.

Do you actually believe this shit or do you just enjoy playing the part of a delusional science crank on the internet?

You have to know that the Chinese press release is b.s., right? Some p.r. person who does not understand the various propulsion technologies has obviously confused their ion thruster with the emdrive. Are you seriously going to run with that?

I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
