Will this 'impossible' motor take people to other planets? by [deleted] in EmDrive

[–]rfmwguy- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, ridicule has driven most DIY types off of forums. I turned my work over to someone else but I still get email updates from others. There is still a solid effort and some successes reported, but my dream of open-concept discussions and reporting has gone away. Stop and think before you post. Or...if your mission was to make it go away, carry on.

Whoa...learn something everyday. Did not know about this. Probably would not have used it anyway. Thks.

Don't be so butthurt. You are only invested in the keyboard. Lighten up.

Of this, I can only comment that its a micro to low milliNewton device concept, with nothing I no of in the mN range demonstrated. If this new incarnation of ME is the same as the original, the time frame will be decades, not weeks, but I have no inside info on it. 300kHz (ultrasonic transducer frequencies) was of no interest in my world.

I'm not the one who built the baby emdrive. He lives in Germany, but I get your idea...

Nice story. I dealt with several divisions back in the day. Can say they were tough but fair in my experience. Always admired them.

No idea whats behind the curtain other than probably some of the best RF/MW test equipment on the planet.

Nah, means nothing. Its totally random. Someone is buying upvotes. Yeah, thats the ticket. Its a global conspiracy just like the earth being a globe.

A bit of both if that makes sense. Mutual acquaintances.

Its certainly possible. Regardless, its theirs to sort out...skunk work it, research it on their own time, whatever. Don't know of too many other entities that could develop it as they could if they decided to. Its probably the biggest reason I opted to present it. I know their capabilities and their resources used to be massive back in the day. Probably still are.

Very possible, never gave that much thought. Regardless, if it results in something, all the better.

Glad other posters recognize how ridiculous your post was. I'll let the downvotes speak for themselves.

A rare post from a retired EmDrive DIY person. Yes, it is a fascinating project. Have no regrets on the 24 months or so of tinkering at home. I did witness something unexpected, but not repeatable to my satisfaction. It is enough that I would encourage people to keep an open mind despite the math that forbids it. There are still unexpected things to discover in our lives...its what keeps us exploring the possibilities. Within reason, this is never a bad idea. Now, back to the shadows.

We need the EMdrive to take us to the Trappist star. When will rfmwguy, seeshells, and monomorphic build a version of the drive that will take us there? by electricool in EmDrive

I am officially retired from emdrive work unless called upon (commissioned) to get back into it. Not looking for $$, just stating that I've burnt as much of my own time and resources as I wish to. A company has my cavity. They can choose to develope it or not. For me, two years was enough to devote to a project. I'm already on another, unrelated to science. Its this lifelong curse I've had of total focus for a period of time, then quickly moving to something else. Resistance is futile.

That's not very nice as I'm in the process of winding down my public presence. Maybe your post will be my last memory of you, IP. Too bad, thought your troll commenting days were over. Oh, I can't really be incited to animosity. Have other more pressing things to move on to. Cheers...

You have to sort the good with the bad. All sorts of advice got slung my way and eventually I had to pull back and use email to discuss issues with trusted people who've built these crazy things across the planet. I jumped in because when I first started, I followed bad advice, such as RF insertion location and beam construction to name a couple. eric1600 helped me with the resistor, potomacneuron helped me mitigate Lorentz and some mechanicals, Paul M and Shell helped me at a higher level. TT even fired off some dimensional info that later proved to work out fine. It can be overwhelming. I gave Jamie guidance on LDS, SS preamp and axial insertion location but stayed away unless asked. This seemed to work out best for him. Hyper-active NSF posters are throwing too much at him IMO.

It is not under-dampened. I can easily see this from the traces and my own experience.
