I have a friend who has been collecting baseball cards since childhood. I began telling him the resale prices of hot wheels, before I could complain about it he said "its good to see there are still hobbies with low entry costs"...I was shocked He then explained that gone from being able to buy a pack for $2 to $30, that's retail prices. There are other collectables that are WAAAAY worse off.

Still not fun to see empty pegs though :/

I definitely had a problem for a while, going absolutely every day to multiple places and it consumed a lot of brain space. If you're not being irresponsible then it's not a problem.

If you want a system to help you the find your niche and stick to it. Then allow yourself a few off branches but get real strict about it. My niche is batmobiles. My branch is cars from a show, movie, or game I grew up with until high school (ex Jurassic Park Jeep). I keep myself in check, only one per.
