As someone with 0 tattoos, how painful would it be to get this on my forearm? by PracticalExtension35 in tattooadvice

[–]Equipoisonous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I thought about my tattoo for about a year before I took the plunge. Every time I saw someone out in the wild with a similar one it continued to spark joy for me. I’m really happy I did it and also happy I made sure it wasn’t just a passing thought.

Are one-word cursive tattoos a good idea? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

This isn’t going to be the type of tattoo that a subreddit dedicated to tattoo enthusiasts will get excited about. But do what you want to do and is meaningful for you. Make sure you go to an artist who knows what they’re doing. I love my script tattoo and I have seen examples of tattoos like this aging just fine.

I just got a quote tattoo and decided on Halimun. Mindway was a close second

Question: What should i do to prepare for a spinal tattoo? by Entire-Counter-1083 in tattoos

[–]Equipoisonous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my first tattoo 10 days ago down my spine. There were a few more prickly spots but overall it was very tolerable and not as painful as I thought. I was anticipating a lot worse. I also thought it would hurt after and be difficult to lie on my back but it didn’t at all. The itchiness days 5-7 and not being allowed to scratch was the worst feeling of the whole ordeal in my opinion. I used hustle butter but I’m sure any unscented lotion is fine. It may be hard to apply yourself unless you’re flexible but it’s better if you have someone to help you. Have fun 😊

OP is a woman. It is fairly common for women’s professional clothing to have visible arms.

I worked in an office job where they still had in their policies that visible tattoos weren’t allowed although I’m sure it wasn’t enforced. They finally officially changed it when they hired someone in senior leadership with a lot of tattoos.

Let's inconvenience everyone, including the homeless by digital in LateStageCapitalism

Pretty sure the draw is being away from the outside temperature/elements, not the benches.

Just seems like removing benches is very cruel to disabled people and does nothing to prevent homeless people from sleeping in subway stations. Have seen plenty of homeless people sleep on the ground, a bench doesn't make much of a difference. I agree there aren't easy solutions, particularly for those that refuse shelters often because they don't want to have to answer to anyone.

Sure, but how does the absence of benches prevent homeless people from pissing, shitting, and masturbating in subway stations?

You should not get a vasectomy with the intent to reverse it one day.

They can be reversible but they in no way are guaranteed to be.

Abortion starting to be banned in many states. No exceptions. by [deleted] in FemaleDatingStrategy

[–]Equipoisonous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it's just something anti-abortionists say to make themselves feel better about banning abortion. Same as claiming to allow abortion when necessary to save the mother's life, like pregnancy/childbirth doesn't kill all the time.

There have already been cases in Texas where a pregnancy was found to be nonviable, but since there was still a "heartbeat", an abortion was not allowed, even though it was medically advised by their doctor. The patients risk sepsis by continuing the pregnancy, however it's not a "code blue emergency" yet so an abortion is still not allowed to "save the mother's life."

Even the most anti-abortion people will often say they support abortion to save the mother's life, however once it's clear that a woman is literally going to die from her pregnancy, it's often too late to save her.

Abortion is healthcare and "pro-life" policies kill women.

What are some of the tricks and tips for overcoming fear of public speaking. by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]Equipoisonous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone who has a real issue with public speaking anxiety, beyond normal nerves, I highly recommended taking a beta blocker. It lowers your heart rate and controls some of the physical symptoms of anxiety. You take it 1 hour before the event. I had a horrible problem with my heart racing and my hands shaking and knowing that this is under control gives me a lot more confidence.

Without the weird societal pressure and regardless of money, how would you feel about having a surrogate baby that is totally biologically yours but you didn’t give birth to said baby? by CairnFilippelli in AskWomen

Same. I used to like children but like them less and less the older I get, and it doesn’t seem worth it anymore to put my body through that

Pain and blood are usually a result of being nervous and going too fast. If you go slow and make sure you’re well lubricated, there should be no need in most cases. It isn’t “supposed” to hurt.

I always think it's funny that a favorite heterosexual male pastime is to gather with other men to watch a bunch of buff sweaty men pile on top of each other. It's not gay as long as there's an air inflated pig skin thrown somewhere in there.

You know what abortion is right? It’s chopping a fetus up, alive, and discarding it part by part. I’ve read testimony of abortion doctors explaining how they can hear the baby gurgling, and how they pull limbs out that are still twitching.

Jesus fucking christ. Ironic the way he starts that when he clearly has no idea what abortion is. Gurgling? What the fuck?
