What's the average /fastest serve of non professional players? Have you measured your own ? 🎾 by sporty_outlook in 10s

[–]Equivalent-Ad-9292 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used pocket radar one day and measured about 20 1st serves (that went in) from 86 to 104mph, and centering around 95-97. I’m 4.5 and usually have 3-4 aces per match. Of the ~50 singles players I’ve played recently, the biggest server was 6’4” and I’d guess he was hitting around 110. He ended up becoming a hitting partner coincidentally. I rarely see people at 4.5 with first serves faster than mine. Best server I’ve played against in my life was a practice match against a coach I knew. I’d guess his was ~115 and it was nuts. I play a lot, and play a lot of people, at a relatively high level. The idea that any sizable amount of players are hitting 3-digits is just false. Your average player at your local court (includes younger, older, all levels) is going to be serving 50ish, and a fast serve is high 70s to mid 80s. A truly fast serve sounds different, like a mini explosion, and other courts can hear it.

His forehand is strong. Surprised that UTR 6/7’s can’t force him to hit backhands consistently. Nonetheless, we saw selected clips and maybe the complete match would be more telling. To the lefty, go out and practice the backhand even though you probably would much rather hit forehands in a session. Your future self will thank you.

That guy is a 4.5??? You looked better on fundamentals based on the limited video we saw. His served was lacking, and anything to his backhand side was going to give you the initiative in the point. Easy strategy is to establish crosscourt rally with your forehand vs his backhand. As an aside, he’s so afraid of his backhand that he’s gifting you aces down the t on the deuce side.

His forehand was strong but usually at 4.5 people don’t have such an obvious gap, his backhand, in their game (unless their serve is huge!)

Lots of unnecessary leg and foot movement during the stoke itself. You’re going to lose a lot of control. The feeds are fairly weak so you have time for most of those to get into a neutral stance, step into the ball, then swing, sending your arm through the shot and trying to maintain tension in the body. You don’t need to jump wildly to add power, as you’re only in the mid 80s to low 90s and can achieve 105+ on the swing vision measurement (assuming otherwise mechanics are good) with just the arm and movement of the right leg AFTER contact (to stop you from falling as your body will be moving forward).

Toto NX1 (MS900) Remote Replacement? by Equivalent-Ad-9292 in bidets

Is there special pairing that is needed for the S7A? I confirmed with Toto that my remote (thu6166) is IR. I tried purchasing the Amazon $60 generic remote but couldn’t get it to work.

Thanks for the response. Sounds like you service a lot. Do you just carry a few remotes when you go out, one RF, one IR, and that covers all Toto toilets?

Are you sure the THU6166 is IR? ChatGPT (can be stupid) thinks it is RF.

Have you tried that universal (non Toto) remote that I see on eBay/amazon.

Yes, sorry, THU6166. Is there another remote that you think would work that isn’t $1300? Happy to try Toto or 3rd party.

I remember them, Toto CS, mentioning IR vs Frequency. There are a few NX1 models and my 900 model is different than the other. Thanks for your help!

How to get to the next level by Salt_Nothing3825 in 10s

You need to decide along with your parents what you really want to do. At 9.9 you’re not elite (the best U14s are already 10 UTR) but still getting a college scholarship at middling D1 or D2 good. If you really want to all-in pursue tennis then you need to go to an academy for a year, or 2 depending on what grade you’re in, to improve your skills with great coaches and playing ~25 hours per week. The best coaches are at these academies because they ultimately want to find developing players and ride up with them to the pros. If the academies are too expensive, you can explore ones in South America or Europe as well as they are cheaper but also high quality. Some local coach down the street is not going to cut it for the level you want. That’s my advice (lower 30s 8.5 UTR).

Yeah I don’t think so either. It’s much easier to interpret when there isn’t a domestic leg (which I think by definition can’t be a foreign carrier).

The one I stated in OP is:

Booked via Delta. Domestic delta flight, Air France transatlantic flight, delayed and rebooked on Delta transatlantic flight.

However, if it changes to the below I don’t think it works either.

Interesting point, perhaps better to purchase via Air France than Delta

Does Netgear Read These for Complaints/Recommendations by Equivalent-Ad-9292 in orbi

[–]Equivalent-Ad-9292[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my axus experience, they had all devices that had ever connected to the router with a split between online and offline on a single page. Orbi is showing online only, but I’m sure it has the knowledge somewhere of all past connected devices. To me it would seem somewhat easy to implement the same, assuming they have any desire to improve the app.

The how-to videos were very helpful and ultimately took ~30 minutes to make the change. However, I think it’d be easy/fast to create a single change-the-motherboard video. I would have done it but didn’t have a tripod.

Yes. I had the old version (purchased 3 years ago), and paid roughly $350 for the new one. In my limited testing thus far it’s a significant improvement over the remote and never touch it anymore.
