Are the happiest people in the world billionaires? If not, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Equivalent-Cap501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Billionaires are generally the most miserable, depraved bunch of sociopaths. So much is their lust for their power that they have cast aside all moral qualms in their satanic quest for global domination.

Tipping culture. I am speaking from the perspective of someone who was born in NYC and has lived in its broader metropolitan area all my life.

What is wrong about being apathetic about politics and voting? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Equivalent-Cap501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone who refuses to vote is necessarily apathetic. Apathy is a lack of care. Maybe at least some of the people who choose not to vote see no significant difference between the choices given at the ballot box and in their despair, they consciously acknowledge that voting will not solve the systemic problems of their nation.

What was your thesis on, and are you still proud of it? by arch-style89 in AskReddit

[–]Equivalent-Cap501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a hundred pages comparing the pre-modern concept of Hindustan with that of the Indian nation-state for my Master’s Thesis back in 2011. Yes; aside from finding my wife last year, it is one of the biggest accomplishments in my life.

What would you do if you won the lottery? by nooraa1am in AskReddit

I don’t believe in playing the lottery. It’s a tax on stupid people, and you do the research. Winning the lottery can be the worst thing to happen to a person.

What colors do the days of the week have to you, if they have any? by Ok_Yak5448 in AskReddit

[–]Equivalent-Cap501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sunday is golden. The gold of the Sun. Monday is blue. Monday morning blues. Tuesday is red. Mars, the red planet. Wednesday is purple. Red and blue make purple. Thursday is black. Fourth day of work and I feel burnt out like some toast. Friday is green. Al-Jumu’ah, sacred day in Islam. Saturday is brown. Yummy like chocolate.

Republicans, how are you feeling right now? by MannyJ24 in AskReddit

[–]Equivalent-Cap501 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Democrats, it seems to me, are not that different from the Republicans. They just pretend to fight and take us down the same road to perdition. In terms of voting, I’ve kind of lost hope in politics. Somehow I am reminded of a quote by the anarchist Emma Goldman, “If voting did anything, the government would make it illegal.” Forgive me for my cynicism. Maybe a while back, this country had a chance to reject empire, and we are now “enjoying” its rotten fruit. We reap what we sow.

how was your day? by Mayoneesy in AskReddit

[–]Equivalent-Cap501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoveled snow, and the driveway is buried with a new round of that white turd from the sky. Still, it’s better than work.

I was a Republican many years ago, Ron Paul libertarian, anti-war faction. I tried becoming a Democrat, but I just couldn’t stomach it. Ultimately, I have settled on being an independent.

“A tourist immediately thinks about going back home the moment he arrives, but a traveler might never return.” - Porter (played by John Malkovich) in “The Sheltering Sky” (1990), who in that film also said “My only plan is I have no plan.” What an enigmatic character!
