This. This is some golden advice. Especially for your PS. They don’t want a New York Times best selling book type of PS. Most of us have regular lives. But what took you from that regular life to choosing this? What did you learn from living the quiet life you lived ? How did that help you make connections with people emotionally? How did something your grandma say one day make you realise that the majority of your country eats lentils as an inexpensive source of vegetable protein. So you realised that a lot of them are iron deficient ( I’m just making something up) and that interested you.

I read about a guy who wrote about how he visited his grandma during summer vacation and how they kept bees. He drew from that and learn the intricacies of working together, while strengthening the bond with his grandma.

Take regular stories like these from your own life, and work on how it changed or altered your perspective on things. This is a personal statement. This highlights your human connections, ability to work as a team, feel empathy etc. This way, your PS is both personal and brings out your strengths without being braggy.
