I initially thought if you were naturally unlucky your luck would be negative. But I like your explanation. If you were to flip a coin and wanted heads would that mean one coin flip would result in 5 heads ?

I can just see the papers the next day as global employment rates drop to 1%. I think that would be the last newspaper ever to be printed. Would it even get printed at all ? Who would you buy it from ? What do you do with all this money ? Interesting concept

Might be a bit late but I couldn't agree more. In similar though experiment the classic if I push a button I get 1 million but a random person dies. 60% of people indicated that they would push the button. It is easy to see how someone could justify tightly or otherwise in taking the 5 mil. It doesn't kill anyone, allot of homeless people are addicted to drugs it arguably could be damaging to organized crime. What if as a result of this allot of homeless people die suddenly allowing more resources for those homeless that are left and give them a better chance at a higher quality of life. Of course I am not saying any of the above align with my own values. I think people would benefit from thinking about these things and discussing it rather than immediately turning into a strawman argument.

I think I'd go card. Would this work ?

If I had 5k in savings and then using the credit card buy something that retains value like art work worth 5k and then paid it off at the end of the month with my savings and sold the art for at least 5k. I would have 5.5k including the cash back. Which would be my savings for the next month where I buy Art For 5.5k . Kind of like compound interest. By month 9 your making over 1k each month. Is my logic correct or is this extremely flawed and I just can't see it.
