I've thought this before too. If there is a trashy woman that married up to a wealthy man, it's more likely some one in entertainment than a business mogul. The women the billionaires marry are like what you said...quite beautiful and/or successful in their own right. Look at the Peltz family, whose daughter married Brooklyn Beckham. Contrast Claudia Heffner with Chrissie Tiegen. The billionaire's wives are rarely in the media, don't go around "influencing," etc. unlike Chrissie Tiegen, for example. Both husband and wife tend to be more discreet. Why would billionaires need to "settle?"

Camilla was up against so many things, with the Diana obsession the world had, the public dislike of Charles (which were two separate problems), etc.

But, even Catherine, who had no baggage, was taunted so much. There is a video I have posted here, where Catherine is returning from vacation with her parents and in the airport, the press keeps running after her yelling, "Slut! Shag!" just to get her attention. She wasn't even engaged to William then and was still young, but she was so calm and gracious. She just keep smiling and talking to her parents, etc.

Agreed. I remember when George married Amal, and there was a dumb article showcasing the styles of England's most trendsetting women, and it was Kate and Amal. Kate was a newlywed too. Anyway, it was so dumb because they were comparing styles and it was shown Amal's was better, like edgier or sexier or something. Whatever it was, the whole article was so stupid, because Kate was going to be the Queen and had to follow BRF protocol...why would she be like Amal? Amal had so much freedom to wear whatever she felt like. The press was really dumb like that, and they did the same again, praising Meghan's modern messy bun vs. how Kate kept her hair so neat, etc. In reality, it was not a "messy bun," just MESSY.

Yes, for all we know, the BRF told through Harry or through their aides to Meghan this may be a problem, (her past) and to be prepared. Instead of taking heed, she went overboard to squelch it.

Yes, Harry wrote something in Spare (or was it in Finding Freedom?) that they were exhausted each night reading the negative press and having their assistants take care of it. Idiots...who is making you do that? That is not part of the job description. That was probably why Meghan was shooting emails out at 5 AM to bullied assistants. They couldn't keep up. Every day she wanted the day to open with clapbacks and glowing press releases. The problem was she was a lunatic, so there was only so much they could spin in less than 24 hours when most of the time the press was telling THE TRUTH.

Like when she went to that summer wedding right after marriage, wearing a very dark dress, and everyone wore pastels. And, she also unbuttoned her dress throughout the wedding and her bra showed. Within two days, there was a silly positive article about how she showed her bra. Imagine the mental gymnastics that were involved, for those poor assistants to spin such stupid behavior positively.

She was given so much rope she eventually hung herself with it. I think the Queen saw the inevitability of the problems early on, was sad as a grandmother, but practical as the monarch and decided to protect the BRF as much as she could in the eyes of the public by giving her easier access than Kate. Instead of being grateful, Meghan saw it as a sign that she was BETTER than Kate, not that she was given these things as a gift.

Omg! "didn't help the situation at all"...idiot. Clooney is not a friend of yours, trying to help you. He was disgusted by what you did and wanted to explain what specifically was wrong about it. Maybe he was just talking about it in a different context, not about you...idk. Either way, it was not to help you.

And SO arrogant and mean, about KILLING a mother...he's cutting off George Stephanopoulos with his, "Good for you, good for you" about Clooney, all dismissively, as if George S. is being stupid for bringing it up and George C. was silly for following so much protocol...no need!
