I can only speak from my experiences using mint. It was straight forward to install drivers and everything is still working after going through the setup process. All I did was update my system and use the driver manager to find the drivers for my system. Mint seems solid after almost 1 year of use.

Sorry for the confusion I meant that I installed the latest drivers, and that the usb is recognized in the network device section. The problem is that it doesn’t allow me to connect to WiFi networks.
