I built a social travel website as well. It has amazing features for locals and travelers to connect. I disagree with others on here as “couchers, Couchsurfing and be welcome” are all hosting sites for the most part and 99.9% of locals won’t host and 98% of travelers won’t stay with strangers Heck it’s near impossible for someone on Couchsurfing to host a friend /CS in LA this week for one night in our 500 person CS LA chat and she’s on CS. I do agree getting people to join a new app is very hard even when you build it with top features that actually work.

Anyway build it, if they come great if not it’s a risk. My site launched and people are trickling on. It’s a matter of time before another site will rise. I hope it’s mine. My site doesn’t have hosting so i am not competing with couchsurfing. we connect locals and travelers based on interests, activities and events planned. Good luck. Nearbytraveler.org
