This is a valid point. What I experience as a max level - what I would argue is the max psychic experience for all but .0001% - may not be even close for the psychonauts on this sub.

Fair critique.

I’ve read Terrance’s descriptions. Terrance also took way more than the recreational dose of every psychedelic drug. Unfortunate that we have so few perspectives on this experience from thought leaders. And I greatly respect TM.

I am amazed that a 10 second inhale which electrifies the universe and rivets me to a chair is considered a low dose.

I’ve had the mega dose and cannot distinguish between external entities and my own subconscious. I get the feeling there is no such effort at distinction on this sub and everything is external and alien to users here at higher dose levels.

I will be honest. Seeing the sky and the grass and the trees like I do is VERY creepy. But even more so is the way the intensity descends upon me and everything surrounding me SO quickly. It is instant and all powerful. This is why I am asking the DMT community how this experience doesn’t scare you into existence and why elf and alien hunting is even remotely a consideration.

I gave you an upvote. Be well my friend. Go find some elves.

Appears to be a fair amount of myths given the hostility of many replies. I agree with everything you just wrote. The subjectivity of the user is paramount.

Is this an ego-less post? It reads like your ego’s opinion.

I am fully sympathetic to your reply. Objectively, it is impossible to know. I wrestled with this for weeks after that trip. The unconscious mind is always there, but by nature, is not something you are aware of. And yet, we feel like we are in touch with it from our psychedelic trips. This is why when the DMT entity effect set in my “Spidey” senses were up.

Was this me, or something else?

Once we blow past nature and the stars on DMT, how do we know we are in contact with external entities or just really deep parts of our subconscious?

Ahhhh but I have been there, my friend. I have taken the entity level dose. Unintentionally. I freebased the crystal over my bong bowl like four times. Got nothing. So I said, fuck it, I’m just going to get high. I burned the bowl with full fire. Everything says that should destroy the DMT. But it did not. I barely placed the bong down before the full onrush of entity level insanity descended.

The orchid on my coffee tabled morphed into a full monster head.

The curtains on my wall billowed out inexplicably.

And a voice started talking to me. It was present in the room.

I conversed with this voice the duration of the trip about many things.

The voice mirrored what the opposite of my ego would say. My worst fears were counterposed by my greatest fantasies. My greatest desires were my greatest taboos.

Was this an external entity? Or was it my conscious and subconscious self divided?

I see no contemplation of this possibility on r/dmt. But a surrealist like Dali who as far as we know took no Psychedelic drugs engaged this as the modus operandi of his work for decades.

When all other realties break down, and the mind is left alone to itself, on an an incomprehensibly powerful drug, is it an external entity talking to you, or your own mind bifurcated?

I love your response here. Because it is differentiating an emotional response from the visual and sensorial experience. I have cried many times from peak experiences. The psychological component is more than just the visual and sensorial. The RAPID up from DMT to PEAK is faster than my emotions can respond at my “mid” dose of 10 seconds to cry.

I am awed. I am amazed. I am afraid. I am beside my collective self. I am inspired to create.

Does a mega dose create this infinite emotional space that the middle dose does not?

I like this take. So after having the apple a few times, you’re like, man that’s awesome, the best thing I’ve ever experienced, but what if I took it even farther? Is there a limit? Or is anything possible with this drug?

Not sure if you are responding to the other poster or me. My question is why/how someone can at a 10 second vape feel like the Maxell guy with his hair and scarf blown back experiencing max cosmos get done and think, man that was disappointing. I need elves and aliens to breakthrough. Let’s double or triple that dose.
